watched the first episode of Eminence in Shadow my top favorite isekai for it;s great humor and good plotting.
It was awful! They threw stuff in from a later volume that’s only interesting after you get to know the main character as a goofball chuunibyou and it all comes off as trying too hard to be edgy but not in a funny way like the rest of the series. I do have hope that they are just using the first episode to get people who have bad taste invested and they’ll get to the jokes in episode 2 but, on it’s own, it was a total bummer.
I much preferred the manga’s sight gag where all of his training has made him into big mclargehuge and he doesn’t fade away into the background at all like he wants to. It’s jsut another good joke layered on the 6 other on going bits

because of my compulsive need to make poor choices, I ended up watching the first episode of Toonami miniseries Housing Complex C, and now I have to watch the rest of it to see if they keep messing with the audience in various ways
I’m not saying it’s good, or recommending it in any way, just detailing a curse I inflicted on myself one week ago, which will strike again within the next day
on the subject of such cycles, I will be pretty upset and disappointed if the show ends up featuring time loops, although maybe not as disappointed as people who watch the show hoping for serious Lovecraft vibes, assuming I’m right about all that stuff being a (blood) red herring(man)

the new gundam is great, loving it so far. not even a super interesting character so far but i love the stupid-dumbass protag like you wouldn’t beleve. also the mysterious pretty boy. gundam has a chronic deficiency of mysterious pretty boys, good to see they are working that out.
literally had a spittake when this series’ char clone popped up. excited for what is to come.

another cartoon i started watching is “do it yourself!!”. it also features a loveable dumbass as the protagonist. her name is “yua serufu”, which is the transliteration of the english word “yourself”. the art-style is super pleasant and the overall theme is cute. first moeblob anime i watch since forever
