Seems like even running them through standalone emulators, manually, the m3u files behave the same.
wait why are emulators using winamp playlist files to load games ???????
convenient file format when all you want to do is load a list of cd images, why reinvent the wheel
Hmm still troubleshooting this. m3u files pointing to rvz files work through Dolphin. I wonder if itâs just m3u files pointing to chdsâŚ
Does anyone know if renaming a chd file could cause things to break, like renaming a bin without updating the cue? I feel like it shouldât break anything, at least at that level.
shouldnât break anything so long as you update the m3u to match
Yeah and that is demonstrably true. I managed to play the same chd and m3u files using different retroarch cores other than beetle and everything works as it should. This was all on my steam deck, using retrodeck + emulation station (my new preferred solution), btw, in case anyone ever experiences something similar.
What a doozy!
is dark awake emulatable
itâs a taito type x game, which is just a windows xp pc. so there is almost definitely a way to illegally play it on your computer
Anyone ever try it in the ps3 emulator? I need to try to get type x emulation running sometime. Iâve been curious about it.
according to the update notes they finally added native dual shock 3 with the sony driver support to pcsx2 but it doesnât seem to have any support for the pressure sensitive buttons as far as I can tell yet
Speaking of PCSX2 improvements, I was just able to do something kind of silly, which was load a save from my Fatal Frame playthrough I did two years ago and kill the last boss. This was, I guess, impossible in PCSX2 until recently because the emulator was known to just outright crash when you triggered the fight.
@hellojed we talked about this a bit at the meet. Compelling reason to grab a series S!
I feel computer illiterate every time I try to use RetroArch as intended
how are you actually supposed to fucking add a game to your âlibraryâ if itâs not automatically scannable? I have a Sega Naomi game which works fine in the Flycast core, but I cannot add any metadata for it, so I can only launch it from history or from the file browser
edit the config files manually lol
I am not a huge retroarch fan other than in terms of its portability, it is really the Debian of emulators
retroarch is an op to sell more misters
switch to desktop mode (f5) and drag and drop the file into the correct playlist
(yes, it is absolutely idiotic that you can only add files directly to playlists in the desktop mode. The desktop ui is even worse than the default so I only use it for playlist management)
there is a hidden fucking desktop mode? Jesus Christ
hmm are you sure? F5 does nothing for me
right, turns out this flat-out doesnât exist in the Mac version, and is missing in both Windows and Linux Steam versions
so again I ask, how the fuck is any normal person supposed to use this
