I don’t know if it’s supposed to be bad or what. I saw it on HBO GO the other day, and rather enjoyed it – inappropriate humor aside.
Ae they necessarily mad because women, or just because they think it’s going to be awful? BEcasue the commercials I’ve seen most certainly do not give me any confidence in it being good.

I think the biggest potential pitfall is that 70s-into-80s broad SNL humor was a lot more widely beloved than the equivalent today. Steve Martin has a new show with Maya Rudolph of all people and I don’t think anyone cares
they will swear up and down that they just think it looks like shit, but I think it’s pretty clear there are some deeply unconscious biases being held

i’ll agree. suprisingly decent action stuff mixed with a better use of Melissa McCarthy’s swear-fueled adlibs. I didn’t really care much for The Heat, kind of thought it was meandering and boring.
i’m just a huge Kate McKinnon fan, can’t wait to see what she does with it.
Trailer looked like shit and I ain’t even a Ghostbusters fan.
What does irk me is them tweaking a scene just in response to the hateful comments. What a petty and childish act, making them no better than detractors. In addition, I will look forward to subsequent devaluation of criticism in mainstream media by deconstructing negative opinions, no matter how clean they are of chauvinism, as fueled by hate against women.

this is probably the most effective deployment of Martin Short in this or any other century, so kind of unfair
but yeah Three Amigos and Inherent Vice justify the presence of Martin Short on our plane
