Yeah, I agree it’s super obnoxious when a person tries to force their ultra-competitive rules on an audience that hasn’t played the game much.

But my buddy and I have played PM without items every Tuesday and Thursday for the last 4 years, and it’s still very interesting and engaging to play after all that time, even with that reduced ruleset. It’s as deep as a traditional fighter, and since we both played a bunch of Melee in high school it had less of a learning curve for us, and we already owned all the required hardware for it.

i want to watch the stream but i havent yet, because using this thread as my only source of e3 news (i have it muted everywhere) is too fucking fun
