i will try it today or tomorrow!
I’m not entirely bad at these levels, but I’m not particularly good either. The little progress I make in a level can be very satisfying, but it can turn into frustration pretty quickly if I become even a little conscious of how inconsistent I am.
The elegance of precision is great, but it’s also the ease of recreating and rearranging challenges in the editor that’s engaging to me. It’s encouraging to persist when you can still practice on your own terms, but it is a real damn shame that we can’t edit downloaded levels or even view them more closely.
I love these! They are still pretty tough, but it’s comfortably tough for my skill level.
I felt like a fox diving into snow on the first 2 jumps in vol 1, I also got a weird kick out of the tip of my thumb automatically placing itself over the run button when I got onto that donut.
Also want to mention another favorite of mine, TCM-ん. They don’t make precision levels, but they are difficult and technical. The challenges they make are focused on enemy behaviors, 3XD-2MY-8PG and NJS-WSD-89G are my favorites so far on their second account.
Basically you can synchronize track blocks to create more states in a level than you could with just the switch block and p switch button. Only works in 3D world unfortunately.
Unrelated, but I was poking around smw central and I thought these blocks were tubular
if you want any levels from the original wii u game you should download em
Unless I am reading it wrong it seems like you’ll still be able to play uploaded courses after the cutoff date, just not upload any new ones?
I only ever played through the premade included courses and never quite got back to it to try some created ones due to how much of a pain it seemed to be :\
Got this game earlier this week, and I’ve already finished my first level. It’s a bit messy, and strictly for casual play, but I’m pleased with it–I feel it feels inviting. I don’t have an online account so I haven’t uploaded it yet, or downloaded any, but I’m excited to do both!
Give a shout when you do; I finally just played through the world @VastleCania put together earlier this week. I like courses so much more when they’re put together by locals.
Okay! Course ID: 32K-SWQ-PGF
Course Name: Adult Normal Koopa Troopas.
I am loving this stage creation. This one started up as your standard “I-love/hate-Chain-Chomps” castle, until the addition of a sub-room really opened it up.
Course Name: Man’s Worst Friend
Course ID: 7LS-XMF-KVF
I love chain chomps!

Uploaded a course I forgot about. Hard for me to make something I’m satisfied with, the hook is my favorite jump in nsmb physics, so that’s what I went with
Something I’ve noticed playing through the game is how few stages appear to be designed with the intention that they be played multiple times after they have been beaten, in non-speed-run contexts. Part of it is the structure of the game itself, and part of it is the language of Mario games–Decchan had made the contrast earlier about Sonic games vs. Mario games, which I feel rings true–and in any case, it’s an odd fit for the sort of stages I like to make, which are largely about trying to be fun to play in different ways.
I’m liking all the stages y’all have made! I’ve only being able to beat, like, half–almost exclusively VastleCania’s–but there’s a lot or really cool designs around.
Anyways, I made a new stage, “Top Plumb”, which is really two stages which might have been better separated, but that would have been far less fun for me.

My favorite Mario mades are those I don’t expect to complete but will still have fun trying. Miss me with that well designed traditional
It’s Mario Maker anniversary season again, so there’s going to be another bunch of weekly 8 level drops from the community over the next month:

(the preview just turns into an image for some reason)
Played through my first Super World, SMB3: The Lost Levels (FDF-VT6-KDF), while out sick from work. It’s a nice set of short and very doable stages. I forgot they added bonus levels and the Koopalings.
I’m curious to check out more of these, but when I remember what finding the good stuff in Mario Maker’s like I just end up playing Mario World or 3D World for the umpteenth time instead.
I finally got this game! I have added all of you (I think) and will play your levels.
But what are some y’all recommend? Ones that you still remember after all this time has passed? Please help me, finding good content is so hard
Can’t believe I paid this game at full price + bought a yearly Nintendo Online subscription, and only ever made two levels, one in which the theme is « Mario forgot his car keys » + one in which the theme is « Mario forgot to turn off his stove »
I played both those levels and enjoyed them!
Here are some SUPER WORLDS I played recently and recommend:
QK1-L6L-92G
8 worlds with a total of 40 levels. Simple yet effective and varied design. Lots of polish with optional paths to mushroom houses, and every level even has three red coins to collect for bonus 1ups.
35K-XYW-3TF
14 tough but creative and interesting levels.
D6D-KLP-GRF
13 very creative and fun levels. Perhaps a bit too easy but whatever.
QND-6J0-V3G
Only five levels. Starts very easy but entertaining, but the third level onward get much more puzzlish and technical.
Found more worlds I’ll post later, but I’m finding that just cruising for Super Worlds is stopping me from finding really interesting stuff because it encourages people to create themed levels and stuff… something I really liked about MM1 was how creative people got, with levels that would only work as one shots. The kind of stuff featured here:
