Do you have to hold 100 records simultaneously or is it enough to just get them once?
Assuming the WR tab in my profile is right, it needs to be 100 current WRs.
Given how just how many courses get uploaded during the weekends, and the very limited discoverability options this game has, getting the swim trunks is easier than it sounds. So, so many courses end up in the graveyard of 5 plays and 0 likes. Most of my WRs are basically uncontested.

literally making a level that ends that way right now, I lose again.
well I guess it’s not a choice to skip the level though, you just have to end by killing yoshi because I don’t like yoshi
also I have another level with an easy and a difficult path, where the easy path requires almost nothing, which is pretty similar. idk if I’ll stick with that theme though.

There are so very few costume pieces you can unlock in SMM2 that I like even a little bit.
