I'd like to thank the Academy

God, if the fakeout was the actual ending, it would fix so many of my criticisms of the movie. There would actually be some sort of truth in the film rather than just treacly confection

When i was younger, for whatever reason, Back to the Futures were having a moment. Everyone would not shut the fuck up about how cool these movies are. The amount of people who told me I would like that movie was enough for me to build up a reservoir of spite and resolve to never watch those stupid movies. This is what happened with Everything Everywhere All at Once. Even if it’s the best fuckin’ movie (doubt it), I refuse to watch something that has made everyone jizz their pants. I don’t wanna be a part of that orgy

A few weeks ago I told my mom she should watch La La Land cuz I’m a horrible son but she turned it off the second they started singing, I’ve never seen her so disgusted by a movie, really proud of my mom, wish I took after her more to be honest

saw a post on autostraddle about EEAAO as the first winner with a lesbian main character in which they mention the 2010 nominee slate of the same: the kids are all right and black swan

saw it come up on some tweets that some folks think that spielberg should make Ke Huy Quan the actor to succeed the Indiana Jones franchise and I can think of no reason why this shouldn’t be the case

I mean I can think of a reason which is that Indiana Jones should die. Let it all die.

Whatever else can be said about EEAAO (I wasn’t a big fan) at least it wasn’t a goddamn franchise.

It’s the movie that links Crouching Tiger and Jet Li’s The One.
