I downloaded all these cars, now I want to take them on the road. (Handheld Consoles for Emulation)

this has been my experience as well.

Doing the “MGS2 Ocelot biting his arm to keep Liquid out” thing

Funny that they just straight up copied the guy from Etsy selling better shoulder buttons. Having the battery be easily replaceable is nice, too.

Just hope the d-pad is better, and then there’ll be no reason to crack it open.

crystal warriors is a good game gear game! and the two power rangers games on there are way better than you’d expect, too. and streets of rage 2 has really nice sprites.

master of darkness, like the sonic games, are better on the master system where you have more screen space.

A couple of early previews of the RG35XX Plus going up out there.

Seems like if you don’t have one of these things, this is a good one to get. If you’re a damned fool (like me) who bought the original…ehhhh.

The only game I’ve struggled to run is like, Yoshi’s Island. I think I’ll live with the original RG35XX.

Edit: Taki constantly showing it playing Tears of the Kingdom via Moonlight is some real click-baity shit, though.

Edit 2: I think the main thing seeing this one is like…yeah OK it can do Dreamcast and some PSP, but without any analog input…why bother? For the games that don’t use those, sure, but.

Edit 3: Wait that’s not true. I can’t play Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak on my RG35XX. Might be an emulator thing, but it freezes at the naming screen. Would I pay $70 for a chance to play it…nah…but…what if…

Oh nice, they moved the start and select buttons back down to the bottom.

How long before Taki Udon claims he created this one, too…

If the Pro does PS2 and Gamecube well, this might be the one I get

got a trimui smart (not the pro) on account of this frontend, since its less precious and fragile than the miyoos and a little more comfortable. i can swap the card between them freely and all the necessary per-device affordances kick in. does not feel a dollar more quality than it costs. couple fun idiosyncrasies in the lack of 3.5mm jack and dedicated volume/brightness control, but the Real Power Switch is pretty keen

i will knock this thing off the bedside table onto hardwood and put it in my pocket with my keys and feel no shame

minui kind of feels like atonement for the sins of the playdate tbh

i’d be interested in reading your impressions of games you got recommended and hadn’t played before (only if you want to though obviously)

Oh nice! I feel like the combo of MinUI + slightly…disposable, maybe isn’t the right word, but “functional enough” handheld is sort of the sweet spot on these things.

I think the only thing that holds me off getting the TrimUI Smart is that it only has one set of shoulder buttons…what if I wanna play Playstation…ah well, RG35XX should keep doing alright by me. Good enough for impromptu G-Darius and Splatterhouse sessions lately, anyway

Edit: also I guess this just leaked out, as semi-final renders go.

Can’t imagine the stacked shoulders will feel great on something so small.

does anyone have st-v emulation working on rgb30 or similar jelos devices? does the bios have to be put in a certain folder?

I’d love to see a handheld for the beach that is sand/glare proof, water resistant, maybe could even be solar powered. The beach boy…

kinda wish i had gotten the rg35xx or something that plays psp games so i could use this tracker software that got ported to them.

I don’t know why I bother looking at whenever ETA Prime covers one of these things. It’s always “I swear to fucking god if he tries to benchmark Dreamcast performance with Marvel vs. Capcom 2 again I swear to g-” and he always does. Just the same shit every time! At least play Dead or Alive 2, dude!

Anyway, Taki’s video makes the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro look pretty nice.

Found that a RG35xx horizontal/landscape version exists and am tempted for usd 70-80 ish. No hall effect sticks but i guess one shouldn’t expect much at this price
