i beat halo 2 on legendary in 2004, legendary is so much meaner than it was in halo 1 but those fucking jackal snipers are the absolute worst. they are the worst enemy in bungie halo and this is in a game where you spend like 3 filler levels fighting the fucking flood who are only slightly better because they one hit kill you with less regularity!!
i tried playing halo 5 multiplayer and all the playlists are stupid fucking gimmick modes (fiesta doesnt need 3 dedicated fucking playlists, jesus christ) or slayer. where the fuck is big team battle?? or y’know, any fucking objective playlists?? i like team slayer as much as anyone else but the most fun i ever had in halo was like, big team battle vehicle clusterfuck 1 flag CTF and shit. i dont always want to play the stupid deathmatch mode where half the enemy team spawns with rocket launchers and i have a fucking SMG
ive tried playing the not-MOBA mode like 3 times and it seems like a. bullshit and b. completely inscrutable and c. NOT FUCKING HALO. say what you want about destiny pvp but its a better imitation of halo 3 mp than actual halo is now
You forget the terribleness of playing the slots for all your upgrades at once. Would be okay if it were purely equipment but it was stuffed full of nom de guerres which are cosmetic. Starting a fresh game was not fun, even playing with somebody.
im about to play halo 3 after slogging all the way through halo 2 for the first time
people tell me its the good one, and you better be right after all those goddamn ghosts jumpscaring me around every fucking corner
also everything else complained about upthread but i dont feel like repeating the points
or halo 2
ever again
I have foolishly restarted MGS4. The game Funeral continues. This game came out 11 years ago, 10 years after MGS. I played it on a PS3 I bought from an Italian moving to Florida to work at Disneyland. Shortly after playing it I would be fired from my first adult job that I did nothing at.
Now I’m not hoping and looking for any of the answers to the questions it’s asking I am just looking at it moment to moment. I think about the B&B models now their cooters forever to be leared in a landmark digital entertainment product.
It is incredible how much of “the video game” is skippable.
Guns of the Patriots is…probably the most indulgent Kojima game? At least in terms of what MGS was, then being impelled or resigned to tie that all off. It’s a hot mess and I think I still love…most of it. TPP is excessive too but more in the “you asked for it!” sense.
I also kinda wish Peacewalker and V didn’t actually happen, some days even treat them like the most official-legit overblown fanfic.
V is really incredibly good mechanically and thematically considering how unnecessary it seemed and how dumb and offensive the Peace Walker - Ground Zeroes throughline could be, it’s just the individual details of the storytelling and the characters that don’t really work (at all)
it’s an excellent anti-MGS after the preceding decade
Oh yeah it’s amazingly technical and artistic, a colossal blast to play with. I’d likely never been more hyped for a title. Record levels of global froth really.
Anti-MGS sounds a little too spiky for me but def some of the angle, a huge inversion toward Open World Game Systems showcased some much needed evolution/progression…the narrative was still a bit too thin imo considering enough evidence of choppiness
For some reason I just want to get an idea of “how long” Death Stranding is
I don’t care about how choppy it was given that literally every character was misjudged, I don’t think giving us more unnecessary Otacon’s dad backstory or more unnecessary Liquid backstory would’ve helped
It’s short of being elegant or graceful though, the Liquid/Psycho Mantis stuff definitely comes off uneven just being there.
It’s hard to ration an ideal amount given the entire sprawl of the mgs world, I’m just saying, for example 5-10 more brief movie grade cutscenes, or instead few larger ones strewn across the game (considering how long it is front to back) that delivered certain plot/character motivations (Zero, Ocelot) would’ve framed the whole thing a lot better, both on its own and in the context of MGS.
I doubt there was a whole other leg of game meant to be delivered, but I also don’t believe for one minute that we got the intended arcs, things come apart at a few seams. The storyboarded and partially built bonus chapter (51?) really reads as something impressive and fitting for the experience, not a bloat.
