Really enjoying the changes to archwing combat and railjack pacing in Warframe after the latest update.
Less busy work, more ass kicking, overall, it feels pretty fun to me.
Though, uh, they still need to do some fine tuning wrt railjack EHP versus enemy fighter weapons. So far it appears one maxed out armor mod is more than sufficient for handling incoming damage, even if you have a breach and your HP is reduced to 250 out of 1000 HP.
In the highest difficulty portion of the railjack mode at the moment.
Also not too keen on how easy it is for the railjack to tail-chase enemy fighters. Sure, getting guns on target I’d expect, and running them down when you sprint/boost, but you can follow them all over without too much trouble and that… that kinda feels like it should be the provenance of the smaller, faster archwings.
it actually sounds interesting so i bought the base module. fuck it. $15 to play a game that looks like this, with the most ludicrous business plan i’ve ever heard. shoot for your dreams.
my alternate universe geralt of rivia who would rather not push himself too hard, thanks, is ready for the thrilling physics-based early-access world of E X A N I M A
update: my alternate universe geralt of rivia who would rather not push himself too hard, thanks, was not in fact ready for the thrilling physics-based early-access world of E X A N I M A and has consequently been permadeathed
Have you played Tower of the Sorceror? This looks very much like that, just with more(?) scope/ambition and a crazy business model.
Played it maybe a decade and a half ago, and got to the third tier of levels then had to restart (each tier is 10 levels and builds on the resources you got from the last). It’s almost certainly the direct inspiration for both this game and DROD RPG.
Just checked – Tower of the Sorcerer runs fine in Windows 10 but you DO have to right click the installer and set it to Windows 98 compatibility mode, otherwise it fails to update the registry.
EDIT: The game also has textboxes with white text on a light-gray background, and idk how to fix that yet.
Also this game is much harder to play than like DROD RPG since there is no undo, you don’t start with the ability to predict a fight, and it doesn’t seem like you can save at will at the beginning?
I have now played the free demo for Tactical Nexus and the game is very good. Would recommend! My sister and I played through the tutorial tower in about 2 hours. We only cleared it with a bronze medal and there are 3 other (seemingly longer) towers in the free demo.
Tactical Nexus would be a spreadsheet game if it weren’t too complicated to warrant a spreadsheet. The sheer complexity and variety of meta-game starting conditions means the game is way too complicated for walkthroughs. The math melts away and all you’re left with is intuition and unlimited undos. It’s beautiful.
Also it’s hilarious to me that I now own two mechanically deep and extremely ugly games that share Tower of the Sorcerer as an ancestor.
Tactical Nexus <- Tower of the Sorcerer Dream Quest <- Desktop Dungeons <- Tower of the Sorcerer
Wished i could have a better ping when i played it.
i got one month free of origin acess by activating two way authentication and i managed to finish the campaign and loved it!
the multiplayer was also really good, but i think different in my plays of Project Reality, Red Orchestra 2 where i could handle going against people with my ping of 250, i feel i could not improve (even if the chat was being really nice to me) because of that.
i’m playing metal gear survive and i feel like i’m being brainwashed into enjoying myself
i am???
but also i’m skipping literally every cutscene because the moment i have to exist in the game as a character and not an abstract creature clumsily flailing around i’m immediately upset by how completely graceless and ugly this game is compared to mgs5. my character stands like they have to take a shit.
