do you have any way of the samurai games i can borrow o keeper of knowledge
I’ve got the first one on PS2
they even printed the manual in color!
the box promises, 40 different swords
dope! any chance you can help a gal out during these trying times
Indeed, I can take my first walk in three weeks
If you can’t wait, here’s a sampling of some of the tens of swords you can expect
That’s from the manual?
I swear it on the cross of gold sword
Kyle seems like a pretty cool fellow.
Incredible artifacts from the world of “Kyle.”
Zippers aren’t what they used to be.
I tried to play the tutorial in the first Way of the Samurai and I said “I can’t wait to play this game!” and the teacher said “OK, well, I hope you’re ready.” and then kicked me out of the tutorial. That’ll teach me to be enthusiastic I suppose.
i turned on shining force again because psn/ffxiv servers are being weird, and the VERY FIRST THING THAT HAPPENS is the king of dolts throws me in jail for being a spy. i mean, i told him that im a spy, then he called me a liar and threw me in prison for being a spy
i examined the door and a man with a backpack let me out of prison. i went back to the king for some kind of ‘ha ha howd you get out’ INSTEAD HE BRIEFED ME ON A COMING BATTLE THEN TOLD ME TO GET SOME REST
i guess he was just hazing me
he king crim-zoned you
i’m trying to play some more fft but i feel overwhelmed by choice and asking about it here DID NOT HELP
(the threads @Sakurina linked were good and informative; nevertheless, here i am)
Finished Black Mesa. The new Xen content is absolutely jaw-dropping, a game unto itself. I’m beyond impressed.
Essentially there’s now a second half of Half-Life, full of content built from the ground-up. New puzzles, new environments, new enemies, all in this thriving, living ecosystem. It’s legitimately amazing. Would absolutely recommend it if anyone has any desire to play more Half-Life.
wasn’t there a pre-xen level that was a condensed version of the original back when they first put out the non-xen half of the game. did that ever eventually get reworked or anything
Just clicked through a longplay of the original Xen, and it’s like, anything that was a memorable location (there’s very few of them) in the original, they integrated in some way. Like, there’s a particularly organic-looking curve around an asteroid thing in the original, where these little dangling ceiling things such your energy, and in Black Mesa, they took that curve and attached it to one tiny part of a completely original larger level.
The broodmother thing battle is still there, but it is entirely different in literally every way.
There’s also the part where you go into the alien factory, which is in theme the same as what they do in Black Mesa, but literally everything about it is completely new and different.
ah geez I love way of the samurai
I played Jumping Flash last night for the first time since October. When I first got it, the controls made absolutely no sense to me and I kinda hated it. I got incredibly frustrated at the second stage and gave up. Last night when I was too sad and exhausted to do anything but lay in bed, I picked up my Vita and decided to give it another shot and the controls clicked right away and I beat the second stage on the first try. I got two thirds of the way through the game before having to go to bed. It’s not a masterpiece or anything but it’s a good depression game, I guess.
I’m so happy for all the recent WotS love. There’s a spiked ball weapon you can use in two player that can kill your opponent in one specific grapple.
Also, I too just recently played through Jumping Flash! I love how the stage design prioritizes the building of a dense, cohesive world rather than a sequence of challenges. I adore the elevator stage and the theme park level.
