I played Zwei!! because i was looking for more Falcom stuff but thought Tokyo Xanadu wasn’t right for me. I absolutely cannot believe the amount of puns that are in this game - everything you check (while playing the boy) comes with a pun. I’ll have to get my screenshots when I’m back on my PC but yeah it’s incredible.
Also weird thing: this was a game released in 2001 but first translated to English (officially at least, i didn’t look into it) in 2018, so it has bizarre Post Aughts energy for a PS2 game. Were people saying “totes” in 2001? like, “i totes got this” not “my favorite bags are totes”
Anyway, so far combat is kind of annoying but the game is very charming and I’m looking forward to spending somewhere between 12 and 20 hours on it.
i finished pathologic 2, easily one of the most compelling new game experiences i’ve had in some time
otherwise just playing a little destiny and continuing to avoid tripping back into eorzea
i am particularly time flexible at nights as long as this shit is going on, if anybody else does want to get a gloomhaven tts team or a phantasy star online blue burst team going on these are things i want to do re: which my usual buds have forsaken me~~
Zero Team 2000 is a good arcade beat’em up, but play as the lady, the other characters aren’t nearly as fun. Only the lady has a volleyball serve as a combo finisher and it is some ridiculous Asuka 120% shit and I love it, it’s so fun. (hold up while doing your basic combo to do it as the finisher) The game also has a nice sense of chaos to it where you can knock down barrels, that knock down explosive barrels that knock down other barrels and enemies. Enemies can also pick up stuff and throw at you, and one of the weapons is a rocket launcher. It’s a pretty easy game unless you’re not very careful about not getting hit, since getting hit deals a lot of damage to you. But also, whatever, it’s an arcade game, you can credit feed the hell out of it.
My big negative to it is that the lady character is very titillating, and I guess I can excuse that all she wears is a g-string bikini and a jacket but I can’t excuse that when she’s defeated she lets out an incredibly sexual moan, feels really skeevy :I
mount & blade 2’s character creation already looks like an appropriate inbred shit-smelling medieval peasant creator. the game generates two appropriate parents to explain why your character looks the way they do. seeing a fucked-up baby version of your character with the same shitty haircut you have as an adult is amazing
every human being you encounter is a new and horrifying grotesque in mount & blade 2. everything is higher resolution but still maintains the ugliness of the past if not accentuates it. sort of a pathologic 1/2 situation; i kind of love it.
I should probably elaborate by saying this is KATANA KAMI: A WAY OF THE SAMURAI STORY. There is a dedicated button for groveling and the game keeps track of how far you slide from dropping into groveling from running. You have to do emotional labor for Dojima the blacksmith or he’ll start skipping work and drinking booze and “acting incomprehensibly” according to the game. I think I need to play more Way of the Samurai games.
I gave two or three “gold statues” to her through a courier that shits in the bushes near Dojima’s house. I am on the top of a list of item donors/potential suitors in a newspaper column she writes from jail, but when asked “Nanami’s feelings about me” her response conveyed through the courier was basically “she knows you exist but doesn’t really care about you in any way”
I accidentally started a gang war by gifting people sake so everyone became rowdy and violent and now the smithy is overwhelmed by orders for weapons. I sent Nanami some rejuvenating water from the secret forge but “Pervert Dude” still has 19 more daughter points than me. I am thinking about sending her a grenade in the mail.
the pc version of enter the matrix rules because you can force it to only load the worst looking low detail distance models and watch as the game turns into a messy world of missing, transparent objects and completely square tires
