*cue crazy bus title theme*
@Tulpa found this and I have played it for 5 minutes before declaring that it rules.
I’m glad I bought it the other day!
Ive played a shitload of Soul Calibur VI. I think ive grown to enjoy Yoshimitsu style the most, quick and unpredictable and i love his silly moves like using his swords as a helicopter or walking on them like stilts. The physical comedy is this game/series gets to me a lot — love using a special move on someone and watching them flip through the air ass-over-tit 30 times before plunging into a river and yelling like DAMN YOU!! Or kicking them into a wall so hard that their pants are completely obliterated. I only miss being able to hit your opponents on the ground when they get KO’d and hear them go EEYAAGH- EEYAAGH- EEYAAGH!! over and over, don’t know why they removed that
Also decided to play Dragon’s Dogma a bunch, with the intent to actually beat it this time. I’ve fucked around in the early game quite a bit but never gotten this far. Leaning all the way into twin daggers using classes because they seem to have the most fun techniques; in addition to being able to dodge roll and double jump, i got an awesome little Sonic sprint that i can chain into a sliding tackle. I use this almost exclusively to kill wolves and goblins now and it is hilarious fun literally every time
is there some trick to the og trials of mana? i keep hearing about how the battle system is “unique” but all I’m getting out of it is mashing. The last dungeon i did, the volcanic island stressed me the hell out with the amount of encounters
Its only an hour long, so there’s no reason not to play it! So beautiful
play SC6 with me
I’d love to! once i have PS4 online again, unfortunately i have been waylaid by joblessness and then the plague
That dev’s (Colorfiction) 0°N 0°W is also really cool
also free right now on itch
all currently free
Also trying to find a picture of a sad Cary Grant, but that’s harder than it sounds.
i only have it on PC
aww dag
I’m flailing about in Just Dance 2020 because I want to do more active stuff
panzer dragoon switch is neither good nor bad, they make basically tasteful choices but the approach is a little too conservative and the console too underpowered for it to not come out as ghibli star fox 64, which is how I think it’s remembered by non-sega-synth-heads anyway
Zwei done straight like this will be a flat out waste by comparison so I hope they get it together by then
On the Saturn the game is radical and boundary-pushing. For years after it was astonishing to see what they pulled off, and in the system launch window no less.
Any remake within existing technical and conceptual boundaries will be… nice. Quaint.
yeah, it’s no wild arms reloaded or virtua racing (or, I expect, drilland) but the bar is abnormally high for some of these remakes, I feel like these guys basically used the all stars transformed level as a visual and technical benchmark and kept the original slowdown to an extent and it’s not going to blow anyone away as such but I don’t think they really fucked it up per se, and the atmosphere of the original is pretty much impossible to replicate other than through emulation anyway.
like I said, I think zwei like this would be a mistake, but I think they’re gonna get some harsh feedback.
I’m wondering if they also lost the source code/assets for Zwei like they did for Saga. The PS2 Sega Ages and Orta versions of PD1 were based on the PC version which they somehow found/kept.
Japanese game studios seem to have an archive policy of burn shit to the ground and throw everything away, so if anything survives it often seems purely by luck or by someone making a personal effort to archive it against company policy. And that depends on talking to the right person, their remembering what they did with it, and it not having gone missing or decayed since.
