wow that eskimo kiss works perfectly
This is the bravest and weirdest Nintendo ever got with a major sequel, and I love it to death. It is so prickly and off-putting and makes one feel so on-edge and distressed.
i like how odds are your reaction to first entering a cave is going to be “this is bullshit, i can’t see what’s killing me”, then resolving to go explore someplace else, but it turns out one is actually much easier than it looks and IS the way you have to progress. so already there’s an element of facing your fears
True coming-of-age game.
Legend of Zelda Future, here we are!
it’s the best one imo
king’s field-era fromsoft devs definitely played the shit out of that game
zelda 2’s least imitated design lesson is in how often it throws you against challenges and obstacles that more forgiving games would consider you under-equipped for in order to instill feelings of genuine dread.
My friend somehow managed to not die horribly. I guess I forgot how awful the AI is in this game. She just built a starport at a convenient chokepoint up to max, and the AI kept suiciding their fleet into it, giving it just enough time to fully repair between attacks.
Meanwhile, I’m roughly 3/4 of the way to building my fleet up to max naval capacity, and all other players are already “pathetic” or “inferior” compared to me. So is the asshole AI empire to my south that declared war on me early game, and I managed to wait out into a white peace using similar methods to my friend. So I know what I’m going to be doing next session we play together.
My expansion really slowed down this session, I didn’t find many more planets worth colonizing like I expected to, but I guess that will change soon. My friend is usually much better than me at RTSs and 4X games (and games in general) so I’m really excited to just get stupid strong this playthrough and be a jerk to everyone and exert my power every way possible.
I love Paradox games so much.
I’m very proud of myself.
looks like my new apartment irl after 3 weeks
i pre-ordered doom eternal from amazon and it wont be here until wednesday at the earliest… so i’ve been playing doom 64(on ps4) instead. never played it back in the day as i didn’t have an n64. it feels very weird. like an interquel between doom 2 and quake. colored lighting everywhere. the redone sprites are more weird and alien like than the originals. game rules.
Wandersong is so darn cute and I feel more compelled than I expected to be.
Meanwhile, I’m not playing it but if you want to be surprised by a single god damn thing in the new Animal Crossing stay off of Twitter I guess
I played the great game of “Making Pizza” wherein, I made some friggin’ pizza.
Also, Warframe. Every time I go between “I see numbers when I shoot people” and “I don’t see numbers when I shoot people” I feel a bit more strongly that I prefer the latter over the former.
you’ll all make fun of me if I describe my experience with doom eternal in any detail, so I’ll just say that it’s not very much fun so far and leave it at that.
Witcher 3 is one of those games that begins very strong (unresponsive movement aside) until you realize 15 hours in that you’re just following the quest markers on your mini map all the time, and you now have fully processed the combat and extra oil/alchemy/sigil systems and they will never surprise or challenge you again, and every dialogue begins to feel similar, and there are still like 80 hours ahead
I love it when games exist to be played. Which is to say, they just assume it’s the player’s job to do what they’re told for as long as they’re told to do it, so as to facilitate a game reaching its conclusion.
And when I say I love it, I mean it makes me want to die.
Do you have to play the first 63 games to get the full effect?
