InBento is a cute little mobile puzzle game, it’s not terribly challenging but it’s aesthetically pleasing and chilled out.

If you haven’t already @Mikey, check out Afterburn’s other puzzle game Golf Peaks. It’s very nice.

That’s how I found out about it, actually!

I haven’t played 0 yet, but 2 was always my favorite Yakuza. I played Y2 too recently to play a remake, but I always thought it looked like a really nice remake.

I use these and like them a lot. The buttons do feel a little squishy and Hori-like. It’s much much more comfortable than the standard joycons though, and I feel that makes actually pushing the buttons and pulling the triggers easier. I don’t think I’m as discerning as some of you with regard to d-pads, but it is a d-pad and not a diamond of little buttons so for me at least it’s a lot better

I guess all this to say YMMV. If you really don’t like Hori style mush-buttons, you’ll probably not like these, but if that’s not a deal breaker I think they are a significant improvement

I went for a dubious alternative to the Split Pad Pro that I posted about in the Switch thread:

2 weeks later I’m still having a great time with it. It’s very comfortable, it can do gyro aiming, and it’s far superior to joy-con for analogue movement. But the dpad responds poorly to sudden changes in direction. So the controller’s good for 3D action but poor for 2D action.

nope

You didn’t see two gay cats declare their love for each other after you save one from gambling debt slavery.

Gay cats!

As forced, token, and at times hilariously in your face as it feels, a bunch of ESO quests just randomly having two gay khajit or lesbian dark elves yelling about THEIR WIFE at your face is still pretty nice even if the writing is garbage in so many ways.

I feel like FFXIV is the finely crafted four star restaurant of MMOs and Elder Scrolls Online is the 4:00 AM Taco Bell of MMOs.

It’s late and I’m going to fucking make this post, I hope to god it makes sense when I wake up.

had a strong urge to hold a controller and play a sidescroller this week and I can report that both the new dead cells expansion and the current noita patch version are very good

Wilmot’s Warehouse is excellent! Put it in the small pile of great co-op video games

I got the game late because I did not initially understand how it could stay interesting for 10 hours considering how it takes place entirely in one warehouse and the basic gameplay loop never changes : Truck comes in with items, you have a few minutes to place them wherever you want in your warehouse, client comes in and you need to give them their requested items ASAP. Repeat again and again, and each time there are 4 new kinds of items available. Every four phases you get unlimited time to organize your warehouse

The game works because, I think, the devs have spent an incredible amount of time obsessively tweaking the numbers until everything -seems- randomized but is actually finely tuned to either help or hinder you in cool ways and give frequent new interesting challenges. It will give you items that fit neatly into two different categories, then give you one that fits both - where do you put it? Then another one that fits no category you’ve chosen, but is vaguely related to one other item so you put it next to it but you’re really not sure you’ll remember its location later on

And I do not believe there is any optimal fullproof way to rearrange this warehouse, you’ll always have to compromise and adapt

Co-op enhances the game but it’s fine solo too, unlike every other co-op game

if you tear it to pieces, the pain will stop

when a game sounds interesting in abstract but is also “that actual job you worked for multiple years” so you don’t see yourself ever actually trying this game version out

Playing Chrono Trigger for the first time since emulating it on zsnes in middle school. It’s such a nice and breezy game. The way positioning matters in the battle system is janky but fun. I totally forgot about the whole trial scene, what fun! I love getting called out and/or praised for rescuing cats and stealing old men’s lunches at the Millennial Fair.

Going to the future is a HUGE slowdown though, the pacing really suffers in that bit. At least you get Robo, the best party member, there.
