Pretty much. I’ve gotten by with a cheap pair of flush wire cutters and a fresh xacto blade. Nicer nippers mostly give you cuts that are easier to clean up, if you don’t really care about tiny marks or you don’t mind a little sanding and polishing you’ll be just fine.
I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of a cheap bag of assorted sanding sticks for removing nub marks
Not necessary at all but I think panel lining adds a lot to a model for the price of a $3 pen. The color you want varies by the plastic piece you’re lining, generally you use grey on white parts, brown on red and yellow, and black on everything else.
I’ve got Sega Saturn model, it’s looks pretty cute! I’ve never done one of these before and I’m afraid I’m going to like, cut a piece out of a sprue but not realize I’m actually cutting a piece of the piece, if that makes sense.

I was able to finish my ghira geargagagaa!! (i dunno why but i always pronounce this kit like the gerogerigegege in my head) what a handsome lanky lizard… threading the pieces on his wire tail was slightly less painful than the MG gouf

it reminds me of the PG unleashed but in like a master grade size… which makes sense based on how into RG’s theyve been lately… like RGs really are little master grades now it owns
i am not excited for this at all though. i think that metal stickers are really cool (whenever i watch people build huge boats they always order all this extra gold to stick on everything), but im also the only person on the planet that enjoys stickers (except that fucking getters stickers holy shit no more LONG THIN STICKERS)
i didnt care about the first MGEX kit either, but im also a grump that only enjoys weird nagano robots. what do you toothpaste lovers think of it? are you gonna drop the 250 dollars or whatever??
my biggest beef is this has such a ‘presentable’ inner frame (WOW THREE SHADES OF GOLD) that they’re trying to get people to want to buy it twice

i love his spiky club gun! i have the eldora brute which is like a grey and purple version of this dude with FOUR LEGS
which i thought would be super awesome but building the same leg four times was actually kinda boring!
