I did not know about this NES game from 2010. Holy cow, it’s so Compile-esque!

A one credit clear! Okay, the game doesn’t take credits. I think this might be the only shooter I’ve ever legitimately done that in. You get 10 million points for defeating the final boss so this is a huge increase.

These past few days, I’ve been using save states to practice specific sections. It felt good to use everything I learned. There are a couple of neat surprises in how its powerup economy works. Like, I had no idea this existed:
I didn’t use that trick this time because it has its limitations, but it’s cool that there’s such an odd secret.

Running off my Blazing Lazers high, I decided to try 1CCing Gun-Nac on Intermediate. It was a lot of fun! Playing these games like this is so much more enjoyable than save scumming or credit feeding.

Oh yeah! I’ve dipped my toes into them but without scores to chase, I didn’t invest too much time learning their rules. With this thread right here, I’d be really interested in revisiting them.
Would anyone enjoy setting a game every two weeks or each month that we would collectively chase scores in? I think it would be pretty fun to build a leaderboard and encourage more tip sharing.
