I’m still doing tutorial stuff in the starting town. I just did the first boss fight. I was fucking dying when I then got a tutorial showing me that I’m going to be taking down a gang of sinister stylists by turning their grunts one by one and then gradually moving up the hierarchy until I can take down the kingpin, like I’m the FBI or something.

i went back to this purple dot spot like five times trying different kinds of projecticles against it from every angle and nikki just WOULD NOT COLLECT IT then was reminded that you can butt stomp because butt stomping counts as cleansing and i dont know why i forget about butt stomping unless i see a box or broken up pumpkin. IT HAS OTHER USES i have to internalize that haha. stupid dews of inspiration. i dont like the telepathic dragon i think he looks like one of those birthing plushies i always get because they’re gross

The thing I keep coming back to is the fidelity of materials in the dresses. They have fabric texture, beads, sequins. Which means that all kinds of games could have clothing that looks this good and they choose not to.

yes, this exactly. something i’ve wanted to ask is does Infinity Nikki have the best looking fabric in computer games? i’m not really up with the latest games which focus heavily on characters.
i’ve been trying to capture a good screenshot of the sparkly dresses and i can’t because it just doesn’t look as good in static shots. there’s also some dresses with animated textures. i spent nearly all my resources on getting the blue butterfly dress (flutter storm), and that has ghost butterflies which perch on it, and when you move they fly after you.

also that video shows the dress changing colour, i’m not sure how you do that, i don’t have the full outfit … it seems like perhaps you can make outfits evolve to different colours?

To my knowledge none of the dresses in IN right now have a color change mechanic, but that could be added on a dress-by-dress basis. I was looking through the Shining Nikki youtube and they showed off one vampire queen dress where it appeared if you owned the white and red versions the white version would gradually become red like a spreading bloodstain from her heart.
For now alternate colors come from two places: for the 3-4 star dresses you craft in-game you have to craft them again, and then use a resource that’s available once per week from fighting the final boss again. Dresses from the gacha, if they have 1 alt color, you have to collect every piece of the dress again. If they have 3 alt colors then color 2 and 3 require a material you get for pulling a specific number of times on the banner, and then color 4 comes from recollecting every piece of the dress again. I pulled on the fairy dress (using free materials only, I didn’t pay for those spins) and I got 1 of the evolution material in the same number of pulls it took to get all the parts purely on pity.

it’s made clothes in every other game so ugly!! the hair looks better than every game too. like all new games have this weird awful fuzzy effect on the hair so it moves around but it just looks blurry, and buggy. I dont know what it is but like ff7 remake does it. but then infinity Nikki comes along and makes hair that barely clips and it MOVES beautifully and looks like hair instead of a solid object. like I thoguht the only options you can either have the bad blurry hair or hair like the nobell gundam, just completely unmoving and clips into whatever is around it. BUT NO, NIKKI SHOWS PEOPLE JUST DONT CARE ENOUGH ABOUT WHAT MATTERS
I do get some clipping issues with clothes when layering though, some pieces that would look good together just don’t get along

gatcha is literally too complicated for me. I opened this game and there are 400 things on the screen. I figured out how to start the game and I play for 30 minutes until I get to the part where there are now 400 more things that I need to use magic dingle crystal stars to triangulate only don’t use the magic dingle non crystal stars, those ones are time gated and the magic crystal super stars are paid, but these ones aren’t paid but these ones give you versions of this thing that are cosmetic but those ones are functional but you can transmogrify the paid into the cosmetic into the functional with super magic crystal super stars or something but you gotta click on this part of the map once every fifth day when the moon is out but WATCH OUT that option is only available for two more days!!! but don’t worry, there’s an event to stack and multiply your magic dingle non crystal stars but watch out these event clothes take special event points that will degrade your magic dingle crystal super stars, so you better act now! with this one time only referral code from discord! and how the FUCK is this the most popular genre of video game on planet earth, I just wanna look cute

also just ignore all that stuff, i read once that gacha games try to confuse you with all the different currencies, so it’s easier to lose track of how much you are spending … i still don’t understand what the best (i mean: cheapest) way is to get extra pulls from the time limited pools.
i was really surprised that you had to get all the individual parts of a costume in the gacha, instead of just the whole thing … i think it’s a bit vicious because if you get parts of the costume you might keep spending money to get all of it.
it took me 80 pulls to get 5 parts of the butterfly dress. also im pretty sure it bugged out and didnt give me one of the makeup parts you get every 20 pulls.
