Did you ever use FMCB to play ps1 games on your ps2? I am setting things up and the comparability to most games seems pretty bad.

I am going to see if it plays Harmful Park.

What kind of hard drive are you using? I just need a suggestion that works.

exact model i use, flawless in every way

Oh you replaced your internal hard drive? I have a PS2 Slim, so I think I will need a usb external hd

you’re going to not have nearly as much luck with USB externals, as the compatibility is far, far weaker. but it’s still worth a shot!

So I think I am going to try to run PS2 games using ESR that came with my FMCB. I hear the compatibility is solid.

I spent some time looking up PS1 stuff and found out POPSTARTER has good compatability for PS2 emulation. Then I found out the PSP has near perfect PS1 emulation and is super easy if you have custom firmware installed. I am looking forward to playing Alundra on it and I will be testing Japanese games Harmful Park and LSD on it soon.

Thanks for mentioning, I had no idea this existed.

I find the PS2 popstarter thing quite practical when I can’t find an eboot version, cause it’s a bit easier to convert. It’s also cool for stuff that uses peripherals like guns, or mice, or neGcons, or paddles, or fishing controllers, or flight controllers, or pachinko controllers, or whatever. Or stuff that makes heavy use of the R2 and L2 buttons. Or just simply stuff that uses analog sticks (I think you can get the left one working on a PSP Go, but still.)

It should be quite practical, in theory. I tried Hover Racing, but it doesn’t work well with popstarter u_u. I also tried some X-Com for the exclusive soundtrack and difficulty bug fix, wanting to see if I can play it with a mouse, but it stutters a lot u_u. But! Initial D works well with my UltraRacer, so that’s something, I guess.

I was bummed to find out Jackie Chan Stuntmaster wouldn’t run on the PSP. Oh well, R-type Delta works and it’s amazing!

I am also planning to burn a copy of Metal Gear Solid 3 Persistence Disc 2 to play the MSX2 version of the Metal Gear games.

:cherries:

oh no, that blows (the game rules) - why not?

Not really sure, the screen just goes blank after the company logo. I guess I will have to try to get it to run on POPSTARTER or buy the game. Can’t be that pricey can it?
