there is a thing called a beep berry, which is basically a screen, a PCB, and a blackberry keyboard that you can add a raspberry pi zero W in order to get a mini computer. I wanted to build one of these with separate components but for $80 a plug and play solution would be not bad.
Less adventurous than trying to make the e-ink word processor though…hmm

Same honestly.
i think i’d be pretty willing to pay for youtube if they just said they’d give like 50% of the fee or whatever to the vid makers i watch, youtube vidz are better than any movie

yeah I did start to feel in the past few years that the stereotypes about youtubers or redditors had gotten out of hand because even though everyone knows what the worst versions of these things are like, there’s also an enormous amount of effort and enthusiasm that continues to be volunteered

assign each of the populace a certain amount of what you might call “reputation points” based on their considerate performance in these shared social spaces which they can then leverage in new and exciting interpersonal experiences like loan applications and job interviews actually wait

Speaking of fetishizing portability excessively…
Next two thinkpads:
- QubesOS actual secure system
- Probably OpenBSD based reverse proxy and network intrusion prevention system that I can daisy chain either of the other thinkpads to via ethernet cable like an absolute lunatic, using the wifi card of the reverse proxy thinkpad to actually connect to external networks.
For whatever reason it is suddenly very important to me to be able to deploy a darkweb server out of a backpack on short notice in a library or a hostel or whatever.

If you’re not playing it portable you are missing out on the steamdeck’s best feature, but a base or 256GB steamdeck on sale is more powerful than any cost equivalent PC.
