oh i remember this because i was obsessed with sun microsystems as a kid. not like for any computer reason but because their campus used to be agnews asylum (THE GREAT ASYLUM FOR THE INSANE) so i believed everything they made was haunted and cursed

My desktop tower that is over a decade old crashed and when I tried to restart it, it would go the login screen. It would recognize the keyboard but no key presses for numbers or letters so I couldnāt login. I figured it was time to do a fresh windows install after booting up with ubuntu on a USB to grab my movies and other files not backed up in the cloud. Now it wonāt even go to the BIOS screen when I turn it on so I canāt grab my files through ubuntu. I think the thing is pooched. I am going to grab some cheap enclosures tomorrow and see if I can grab anything off the drive. I am also new to this so if anything i have said or plans is wrong, please let me know gently.

kills me that a brand new computer is just sitting in the corner cause I canāt afford a 300 dollar pcie 5.0 boot drive for it yet but I was able to start it up and make sure all the other expensive shit inside there works, all 96 gigs of ram and all, which might have something to do with why I canāt afford a drive just yet. eventually Iāll get that 8tb corsair m2 for the pcie 4 slot and two 8tb 2.5s for it. Iāll be damned if I ever see an out of memory error again. forget never uninstalling a game Iām going to never quit another game, just alt tabbed out of everything from now on. still never bothering to actually play anything of course.

Could not get the computer to even boot still but got some enclosures and all of the data is still there. This is good as I donāt lose years of torrent downloads and other files. Iāll have to live off this MacBook Air M2 for the next little while but I will survive as all I play is FF14 and now hopefully BG3.
