Looks like Halo 3 sound engine is similar to Reach’s. So one reason they’ve been investing in fixing Reach audio is because they also need it for other Halos.
Also a helping of flowcharts and a link to a 2007 Bungie blog post to justify why it’s been taking so long
Every hardcore Halo fan is going to know enough about this stuff to be a sound engineer by the time they get it sorted lol.
Real heads already read all this shit on bungie.net when the game was new baby. Hire me 343, I knew more about halo 3’s sound engine at 10 than your guys do now
it’s been interesting to feel how Reach has been climbing my personal ranks of Halo games . Sure the multiplayer sucks still. The campaign though, it’s atmospheric, well fleshed out world building wise. I’m a sucker for the little easter eggs. (I’m doing sort of an achievement hunt of MCC right now, doing all the terminals and data pads, finding all the lore.) I really like Reach’s combat flow, just a lot of good combat set pieces. It’s still got 2 really unfortunate flying levels which make it annoying to run through sadly.
If I had to rank the campaigns… I’ll think on it
i been reading all the lore on Halopedia recently. Really just getting my hype brain ready and engaged lol.
oh yeah the campaign has really been growing on me since i played it again twice with marina and daphny, it’s definitely one of the better halo campaigns. i always had beef with reach cuz they gave the female spartans too much ass and the multiplayer was bad. glad we can all agree that reticle bloom is a shitload of fuck. imagine how fucking tedious halo ce would be with reticle bloom on the magnum. what were they thinking!!
if anyone ever wants to play co-op on pc or xbox one with the worlds most annoying halo lore fan please feel free to ask me. i read all the books as a child up until bungie gave up the series lol so my brain is full of hella useless info about child soldiers and forerunner structures
did you know 343 guilty spark is a human who got turned into a monitor by the forerunners like 100,000 years ago and has ULTRA-RAMPANCY? gee the mysterious ancient aliens were kind of assholes the whole time??? this is the quality of lore we get in fucking Halo since 343 took over lol. the best kind of halo lore is finding out all of master chiefs childhood friends were girls…as if u needed any more proof spartans are all trans
