Guilty Gear Strive is the best fighting game I've ever played

this is what you get for playing anime

I had a long casual set with a 9f friend and we went match for match, finally feeling comfortable enough to try and climb 2 heaven and bounce all u jerks

it’s new for me to play a character built around misdirection and mixup when I am like biologically bad at fooling anybody. it feels like I gotta really work for it bc mill’s damage outside of her setplay is so bad but gosh do it feel great

are you on PC I wanna grind out pot v. millia matches sometime

after much consideration, this Thursday I’ll grab the game and try to build up some sort of Chipp. That’s basically Answer, right?

did 100 matches as chipp against my friend’s potemkin, and we literally ended at 50/50. so yes, i guess it is both a good and bad match up for the two of them.

I do want to try out Strive eventually but I’ll be damned if I trade even a second of Virtua Fighter goodness time for unreadable anime gimmick bullshit - I gotta be really in the mood for that and it’s gotta be under 30 Euros for sure for me to try it out. Rooting for GamePass, quite honestly but that seems unlikely

can you set up rooms in the online multiplayer? i.e. could a bunch of us pick a time to play and go hang out in a room or something?

playing on PS4, but would definitely like to have some friendly matches with people! i play Giovanna and feel like i need more match-up work

uhhhh

lol oh ok

They patched the PC version and lobbies work now. Did they not do this with the PS version?

How do you define “lobbies work now”?

someone can give you a code and it actually works now. at least it did once when I tried it

I got up to 10f briefly, banished back to the shadow realms by a hobo style patient nago.

ughh, I hope this game doesn’t suck me in. I truly wish I could spend more time with fighting games because they rule but it’s like taking up a musical instrument when you buy a new fighting game. You have to consistently practice and dedicate time to it in order to get the full enjoyment out of it.

I am, when I’m not fucked up on painkillers next week let’s throw down

I kinda want to play more decent I-No players because almost all the ones I run into here in Australia are wack AF. (well, I guess apart from when I ran into an aus sf pro player her and got slapped) I never really get my face put to the grinder enough to work it out. I played a few long sets against Milia and it kind of gave me the mindset to deal with it a bit. The wing looked and spike looking aerials are pretty bullshit though lmao. The spike ball one seems to beat everything.

having to take the L when you block fireball after a knockdown and just have to eat a mix is a nightmare. I’m thinking maybe YRC or something? She seems really bad at playing from any other situation that her having a knockdown.

with regards to her and millia with the snap bursts, I always try to just burst bait millia and i-no players because you just know they’re going to burst after first hit. Both of them have super low health so if you can waste their burst you usually win.

Anyone interested in a PC lobby at 2021-06-24T02:00:00Z

i’m interested in turning up to gawk
