Gotta stay well-coiffed
this is all part of the united states governmentâs plan to slowly disclose the alien presence on earth. and in the game.
Goldlewis looking like a fun secondary for us slowpokes.
I hate that all my favorite character designs in this game are feds.
all my homies play gold dick fuckinson
Itâs a fantastical world, they can bend realism and make feds likeable.
The President Has a repulsor cannon arm and shoots a football at a mook with it.
I also love all the love Iâm seeing for Goldlewis on my twitter feed. And then thereâs Leffen showing his bad taste.
Iâm also happy to see a big body fighter whoâs character isnât whole summed up as a fat joke or being a gross slob. Iâm taking this as a W provided a win quote or new story bit doesnât ruin it.
This is now my favourite special move in any fighting game
This might be a really good way to thread the needle between the hard approach barrier of fighting game movelists and the benefits it provides to high-skill play. Each move direction still has a very specific purpose so you need to know what and why youâre doing it, and the half-circle motion still provides the execution risk and skill cost of the fighting game input.
Plus I love how the input motion mirrors character motion
this is some anti hitbox tech
I donât think thatâs whatâs going on here, this character looks harder to play even at low skill than the average Strive character (which is to be expected since heâs DLC). Probably the ingame movelist will split this into 8 moves (because every move has a paragraph explaining its properties in detail). And these are a lot harder to execute than e.g. Solâs half-circle because many of them will cause an accidental jump if inputted too slow, and also the reveal explained you have to continue holding the final direction
I think it comes down to:
swing a ball on a chain = meh
swing an alien coffin with 8-way pizza chart = super awesome
Yeah, I donât think Goldlewis is made to appeal to players freshly approaching fighters but I do think heâs made to attract a certain type of player that wants to feel like they are controlling the character in a cognitive reflection of the input to the action. Kinda like the Punch-Out arcade game where how you curve the stick reflects on the punch you get out.
Edit: Now that I think about it, this feels like Tekken inputs in regards to having having specific tools on specific directions at least with my time with Kazuya in Smash.

Gonna host a PC lobby tonight. Around 2021-07-24T01:00:00Z. Maybe a little later, not sure, if someone else wants to host it themselves first feel free.
iâm just absolutely not going to be over the name Goldlewis Dickinson for a while. is this what white names sound like
PC lobby is up. Code is h5knhj. Currently set to first-to-two wins. Can change if thereâs demand.
I gotta go do something for a few minutes right now but Iâll probably be back before anyone joins.
Edit: not sure why ft2 wasnât working right. Changed the rules back to default.
