That sounds like another one of the DLC bosses rather than Artorias tbh.
I think grandpa is saying he both met atorias and the dragon.
Rudieās right. I know better than to try again against something that kills me in one hit, hahaha.
Now Artorias! He can kill me in three, if I catch that combo unguarded.
I can get him to about 70%. Learning his patterns is tough, and it feels dangerous getting close to him.
nyoom
I wish the run back to Artorias wasnāt so dang long. Itās mostly uneventful, it just eats up time
60% health. Foregoing actually using my shield and dual-handing my claymore, relying on the Grass Crest Shield and Cloranthy Ring to keep me juiced enough to get out of the way and get a hit or two in.
Update: to encourage myself to learn how to properly dodge in this fight, I am going Beef Jerky mode. Weapons and underwear.
Havenāt been able to play in a while but:
Best attempt yet. I figured out the best attack of his for me to dodge & slash him, I just keep getting greedy.
I used a wired controller that had the screenshot button disabled (?!) so I didnāt capture the moment of, yāall just gotta trust me on this one
The deeper I go into Oolacile the more Iām convinced it got what it had cominā to it.
Lotta jerks in this place. Just barely got beat whatever the chained up thing was, and got to the bonfire in the pitch blackness, so I mightā¦come back later. Maybe. This place is kind of a lot.
Well, now Iām in prison.
Itās amazing that no matter how many attempts I make on any number of Soulsy boss fights, I can just keep making this same mistake over and over.
Iām not sure Iāve really learned anything yet. I still eat a lot of attacks I try to roll through, I still go for one more swing when I shouldnāt, slurp some soul juice when something nasty is heading my way, etc.
Every once in a while the planets align and the boss goes down. 60 hours in and thatās still working, so hereās hopinā.
I love how big a deal, at least cinematically, they make this prison break thing, with the serpent sounding the alarm and the gross Ivan Ooze sperm lizards breaking loose and the other serpents running off.
But then you eat shit exactly once and they stay corralled in their little pen, patiently awaiting your arrival.
The enemy placement in this thing is brutal, though. Iām smart enough to know not to rush an archer when thereās probably a soldier hidden in the alcove with them, but I also figured the balconies would eat the channeler spells. No such luck
Playing the cool head game of āis it worth my time to trigger this stairwell to spin around and fall from it at exactly the right time to land on this bookcase in a room full of enemies that will kill me instantly.ā
Filing it away under āeh not right now.ā
Met my precious onion manās kid. Now to venture forth towards, uh, what looks like a shitload of crystals.
I hate this cave. I hate these invisible walkways.
Edit: Seath doesnāt seem too bad. Trying to cut his tail off, which means Iām constantly getting walloped by his tails and dying.
Seath is an incredibly easy fight.
At least, when you give up on cutting his tail
Edit: alright this Ceaseless Discharge guy is gonna need to cool it another day.
Trying to make a mental list of stuff I didnāt finish so far in here:
-Miscellanious items in the tree
-Titanite Demons in Senās Fortress
-That one Titanite Demon hanging out in a room in Anor Londo
-Whatever is in the chest on that shelf in The Dukeās Archives
-Tomb of the Giants
-Some holes here and there in the Catacombs
Oh and the whole super dark abyss section in Oolacile. And Kalameet.
A million hours ago I posted a screenshot of a bunch of huge dudes standing around in lava, saying āhope I never have to deal with those guys!ā
Now, a million hours later, the ugly cackle I made when I realized what they were when I got them to come at me one by one.
Pretty sure theyāre smaller than the original Taurus Demon? Or did everything seem bigger back then. I dunno.
Anyway I saw an item in the lava and ran to it and died instantly. Oh well!!
nope same size same health bar*
*I was wrong I just fact checked, they have less health but same model and moveset. you are Stronger Now
Oh my god, I just looked at whatās waiting for me on the other side of this lava lake.
All my old friends are back
Edit: oh wait let me update that to Why so many Capra Demons. Good god.
Stopping for tonight, but I just gotta say, I find these little Weeble dragons repulsive. Deepy unpleasant to see one come my way. They just take one poke with my claymore, but, nasty. Donāt like them.
