The caveats are many (it was already available on PS+, online requires PS+, it might be dead), but $2.50 for one of the coolest games of this gen that was just shoved out the door and left to die ain’t bad.

MG Survive is a good time for what it is, a tower defense/horde mode (forgot to mention the whole survival and base-building thing in single player which is ok but grated on my nerves after a while) built on MGSV’s engine, but eventually becomes near impossible unless you have a group of folks with you that really know the maps and have good gear, and I never had the patience to do that.

Really all it does is just make me want to play more Phantom Pain and I’ve already lost too much of my life to that game for no good reason.

Maybe it’s that I don’t know what’s actually good (in that mishmash of genres or any kind of game) and was desperate to play something new using the FOX engine because I liked how it felt to control Snake in GZ/TPP.

p.s. everybody play the psx (origins) version of ff1, it’s neat and it preserves the original magic system: instead of mp you have charges, like the vancian magic style of dark souls 1. its color scheme is overall more dreary, giving a sort of autumnal, almost more apocalyptic vibe in comparison to the bright hues of the nes, psp, or dawn of souls versions. def worth a look imo
