this still works FYI, if you buy 3x 12 month XBLG cards for $50-60 a pop as long as you don’t have any kind of active game pass subscription, redeem them all in a row, then buy one month of game pass ultimate, you wind up with 3+ years (with bonus months!) of game pass for the equivalent of $5 a month up front instead of the $10-15 they’re now charging, as they convert stored membership in any other program forward to game pass ultimate at no charge and XBLG is their cheapest program.

I was sure they’d close the loophole by the time the PC-only game pass subscription officially went up from $5 to $10 (the $15 includes consoles and streaming), but between getting free EA Play included and the new XCloud iOS support I think it’s finally in no-brainer territory. act now!!!

(it doesn’t work if you buy XBLG cards when you’re already subscribed to game pass because those actually get redeemed for the equivalent of their cash value, on paper it’s a new subscribers incentive but it works for lapsed subscribers as well)

yeah this shit still doesn’t work at all reliably

I would still strongly hesitate to recommend it on that basis, this is like the dozenth arbitrary unfixable issue I’ve had with the whole windows store gaming ecosystem

i’ve not had many problems with it, but when i have it’s always been one of those two things. admittedly i use it a lot more on console than pc.
