god, i'm so sorry (superhero-comicbook nonsense)

Daredevil has got to be one of the most surf dracula pilled characters. I feel like the plot of every season has been “I no longer want to be daredevil (eps 1-6) … Until I must…(Eps 7-8)”

People have been making parody trailers for “what if movie X was in Y genre” for a couple of decades. The fact that this fails so bad at aping an A24 tier “indie” movie vibe is very weird.

Glad we are now in the James Gunning era of pop culture.

whos that

The Guardians of the Galaxy guy. He also did Peacemaker and the 2021 Suicide Squad. Now he’s the main guy in charge of the DC cinematic universe.

oh I’m so dumb I know who James gunn is I was like ‘who’s James gunning’ I get it now

it’s the academy awards that hurt em most of all

that’s the real reason disney was so mad at marty: the mcu has never won anything besides costume design and production design and disney has been astroturfing every awards season for the past decade in a desperate bid to change that. Other nerd shit like EEAAO and the Joker has won, all kinds of A24 shit has won, but not marvel. Their hatred for Marty was just a byproduct of their own frustration at never winning a prize for best slop at the slop factory.

They’re chasing trends, hoping they can fool the geriatrics voting at the Academy Awards into finally giving them a win.

They could try just making a good movie

That would require letting the creatives have control over their output and that’s not really the Marvel Method.

Not possible, good movies are too much of a risk

One of these days one of the blockbusters they started nominating for best picture after they expanded it to like ten films is actually going to win and it’s going to be so funny

marginally amusing how they do an “enter the void” titles pastiche (which was trendy like…15 years ago, though i guess a lot of their fans dont remember this or stuff like “all of the lights”) and they still half-ass it

enter the void wasn’t even good!

marvel finally throws a single measly crumb to those of us who just want to see the stretchy guy get all rubbery and weird

just realized that, despite being called “David Corenswet” the new superman actor is actually American? and also the new supermovie is like explicitly anti-zionist? are we back???

I’m seeing it tonight, I am reasonably pumped, I actually trust James Gunn with out of control mawkishness

Whoa he has one of the best blue link relatives, his grandfather wrote the original choose your own adventure books

SUPERMAN: fantastic. loved every minute of it. and it’s genuinely funny that America is putting out a movie this overtly opposed to our own government. and I don’t even mean that it’s a powerful statement per se, just that the dissonance is ridiculous, and good.
