bhaaahaha yeah they make people feel smart for Remembering Things, or Knowing a Comic Thing. I definitely enjoyed, like, Iron Man and Guardians but a large part of that was going “Oh, I read about this on a comics wiki once!”

I had the FANDOME on in the background most of yesterday and to be honest, if you’re into DC’s movie stuff it actually seemed alright all things considered. All of the conversations were clearly edited down to the essentials while still having a semblance of conversation to it, most of the time. A lot of the interstitial skits were dumb, like the one where Terry and Bruce from Batman Beyond MST3K the original live action Batman show or another skit where Terry is getting mad at all the other Batmen for now wearing proper face masks during the epidemic like he is with his suit and all of the Batmen are annoyed. There was some sort of recurring claymation skit series voiced by children I could never hear but I guess it was cute it existed in the first place. One of the panels was a game of werewolf with the cast of Wonder Woman.

But really what I want to point out is that there was a panel on Batman voice actors from around the world that seemed cool but I only caught the end. I hope that goes up somewhere.

Fake edit: Oh yeah, and Sinbad appearing at the end of the Shazaam panel to announce he’s going to be in the next movie thanks to internet jokes was the most bizarre thing to come out of the day.

Real edit: I want The Rock to continually be hyping up his Black Adam movie but never actually get around to filming it. I didn’t realize it was also supposed to be a JSA movie, though.

I was actually shocked at how terrible Wonder Woman was, like it’s supposed to be The Good One and it’s aping Marvel with zero verve and somehow even more imperialism. The most liberal superhero movie.

I need to see all the terrible Snyder movies I guess for that frisson of unabashed toxic masculinity magic, but after Watchmen I just don’t think I can do it.
