god, i'm so sorry (superhero-comicbook nonsense)

I wish I still believed in God so I could pray to Them now to guard me from my impulse to find the SUPERMAN FLYBY draft that is on the internet and find the part(s) about Superman doing Super Kung Fu

According to Warren Ellis that guy the dog lady tried to get the cops to kill in central park was responsible for the amazingly gay 90s marvel swimsuit comic with the punisher in a speedo

can’t wait for my fierce queen diana of themyscira to stick it to these entitled millennial furries!!!

They just showed a trailer for the Snyder cut of Justice League that I missed because I was taking the dog out but the reason I’m posting is because before they showed the trailer Zack Snyder gave out a link to a website where you can buy a t-shirt for the Snyder Cut crediting yourself as an associate producer and I laughed out loud irl when that happened.

i feel like seeing bvs twice psycholgically broke me or something because even though i’ve absolutely despised zack snyder since watchmen i am inexplicably excited for the fucking snyder cut of a movie i saw in theaters and hated

I want to watch a DC movie but I haven’t seen any of them and honestly they all look equally bad please help me pick (not joking)

Yeah I’m here for Justice League because I ended up liking Batffleck and because if Justice League had come out in the 80s or 90s or even the early 00s it would have just been a disappointing superhero movie and that would have been that but because it came out in the 10s and everyone’s on social media and if you don’t like a movie you can literally go straight to the people who made it and financed it and talk shit to them en masse about it until they go back and redo it all over again. That’s an amazing thing.

The current crop of DC comic book movies began with Man of Steel if you’re looking for the beginning. None of them are really that good though (except Wonder Woman) but most of them have good parts. Like Batman v. Superman has a cool part where Batman busts into a spot to rescue someone and it’s a cool action sequence. Shazam has some funny moments. Joker is a beautifully shot movie that’s legit pleasing to just watch regardless of how you feel about the story. Aquaman has a cool battle sequence in the third act.

I feel like you could take the cool bits out of all the DC movies and cut them into one weird disjointed 100 minute thing and now that I’m thinking about it I want to see someone do that.

yeah honestly either wonder woman or birds of prey are the only ones i would recommend. both are still sort of… average at best? but they have commendable aspects in my opinion.

suicide squad is a very bad movie but i still feel like batman vs. superman ->suicide squad->birds of prey is a sort of interesting ā€˜cinematic universe’ continuity-wise (bvs is very tangential to the margot robbie corner of the dcverse, but iirc there’s a batfleck cameo in suicide squad)

wonder woman is the dc movie i saw that most outwardly felt like CIA shit cuz it just has all these weirdly jarring references to how interventionism is good. shouldve ended with a recruitment form for the IDF to capitalize on all the nerds who want to nut to gal gadot now

oh yeah for sure. i’ve only seen b vs. s, wonder woman and uh. . .i feel asleep during man of steel every time i tried to watch it, dear god what a boring ass movie. i forgot all about sucide squad and you’ve reminded me that i actually wanted to see bop! ( for cass! ) i agree with your analysis: average at best ( but p good for hollywood / superhero stuff ). i’ll be real and say i had more fun with marvel and i def haven’t seen all of those.

grew up watching the dcau and read a handful of the standout comics in my early twenties. ( killing joke, hush, long halloween, basically bats stuff ) i saw justice league in the redbox and was debating on getting it. even if it’s just to stare at jason mamoa and not really pay attention.

I think people will find that it’s surprisingly easy to j/o to gal gadot while still supporting BDS
