i guess we’ll see exactly how much the marvel house style can contain a specific director

I’d love to see Richard Stanley’s version but you know the dude would get fired two days in.

Imagining Cumberbatch trying to do a take after ingesting huge quantities of psilocybin

stressful

Taskmaster being played by a MYSTERIOUS ACTOR is such a fun dumb mystery that is going to be spoiled a week before the movie comes out and a dozen articles about the implications for the greater Marvel Universe going forward and I just get to sit here in Japan and go “oh lol”.

Sorry everyone in the west that is going to be and listen to a bunch of dumb as hell watercooler conversations about this stupid superhero nonsense.

Disappointed that Taskmaster isn’t a shit-talking Skeletor from the Bronx and doesn’t loudly announce the skills he’s copied as he does them.

My theory is that Taskmaster is a clone of Natasha, who will eventually be redeemed winter soldier style as a way of keeping Scarlet Johansson in the mcu

Looking forward to the deluge of Post Release THEORY Videos frame-by-framing cam downloads of every Taskmaster scene for Does This Microgesture Suggest Taskmaster Once Fought Namor The Sub-Mariner??? What This Means For Phase 9 of the MCU! etc.

I exclusively know of Taskmaster through the Four Winds arc of Deadpool, which Gail Simone wrote, and was very likely the only time Deadpool’s ever been written well and legitimately funny.

Taskmaster played the usual “edgy straightman” role to Deadpool/Agent X’s bafoonery. He also announced all of his attacks loudly as he was doing them, because he was so proud of his super power, which I found charming.

The concept of putting Taskmaster into a non-comedic setting as a stock-standard Gun Man sounds so bland it gives me the brain bleeds.

the only version of ol’ tasky (as i assume he is called in the “Bullpen Bulletins”) i’m familiar with is from the spider-man ps4 game where he is equally corny. sadly he doesn’t shout out his moves and iirc only imitates you and not other marvel heroes. but it’s a pretty good character in that game imo.

i hope the plot of black widow is about how he has planted many bombs and drone cams throughout the town, and black widow has 30 seconds to stop them etc

deadpool’s 90s ongoing, followed by the agent x and taskmaster minis, and finally the first cable and deadpool ongoing was a good run, and deadpool was a good character. it’s only after that metaseries ended that they made him into the modern “marketable deadpool”

Even as someone that gives nothing to this series emotionally I could see those articles form as the trailer went on.

cool names

Are they still running on the idea that the New Warriors are some kind of corporate reality show team? If so, I could see characters getting imposed upon with shitty outward identities as a metaphor that could work if I didn’t already know that there’s no way Marvel could pull that off.

According to this, the characters are all named after derogatory terms for millennials and zoomers. They’re TAKING THE WORDS BACK.

just call them Millennial and Zoomer. Those are better super hero names.
