Games you’ve played today: Fourteen by Kazuo Umezz

can this be done without additional hardware now?

Yep you just set up a USB stick with some files and turn on your console then play stuff off the USB stick.

Okay Discourse continues to break more and more for just me. Search BadAvatar 360 on youtube and watch Mr Mario’s video.

I’ve been playing Tingus Goose this week. Just as I inadvertently played a “roguelite” game with Titanium Court, I’m now apparently playing an “idle/clicker” game with this one.

But it’s an active experience, not something you just leave running (at least so far). Apparently the idle label applies more to the phone version, which I understand is basically mindless with the strategy and puzzle elements removed.

I like the creativity of the art and animation, with a sometimes surprising degree of upbeat body horror.

oh daaaaang, I have seen a bunch of this guy’s weird vaguely body horror art on facebook. I may have to grab this. I’ve been enjoying some weird less-infinite idle games lately (Feed the Reactor was neat, and I played Gnorp Apologue a while back) so this could fill a mini niche for the time being.

oh man I love weird idle games gonna have to put this on my 'do you still wanna play this in 2027 list"

gnorp is neat but it made me feel stupid after a while and I never ended up finishing it

I have never enjoyed team sports in my life in any way but Pipistrello and the cursed yoyo entirely captured my heart with the stadium-themed dungeon that had this music

and insane 1 vs 50 pseudo american football / soccer boss fight + tranchant commentary on the corrupting influence of sports betting etc (complete with an alternate society of people living in the sewers who’ve lost everything betting)

This place is a 5 min train ride from my house. I haven’t actually tried playing it yet though

Nearly done with derelict star. I have sixteen points left after getting these:

Figuring out where to even go to get to this space was one thing. Figuring out how to actually open it was another. Part of my solution was a very slow and painstaking thing because it was extremely safe but I suspect there is probably a trickier but more naturally flowing answer. Maybe. But I got it and that’s what counts.

Of the remaining bits, of which there are two eight pointers, one is visible and I’m almost positive I have to reach it from the extremely nasty spot. It’s possible that I could do it a different way though. I just have a feeling is all.

The other though, I haven’t even laid eyes on and am not even sure where to go to get to it. Which of course, just means it’s time to screw around even more.

My old tv still works so I got a PS2 that works again. PSX/PS2 is officially back on the menu after ~12 years.

OK, the one I thought I hadn’t seen I had, i just had to realize where it was attached to (and then of course figure out how to get it).

Then I decided to give that nasty section a few more tries and I figured out how to get more consistent at one jump after all, and it was only a couple more tries after that to get all the way through and get that last qbit. Hooray! I’m a real sicko!

Favorite areas have to be the key area, the cockpit, and the uhhhhh… alternate universe white zone? It probably has a name in the achievements but I forget what it was. But also just lots of clever ideas all over. There were a couple long bits without checkpoints that might be a bit much sometimes, but it’s all optional stuff. I look forward to coming back in three years when I forget about 50% of the game, or 5 when I’ve forgotten closer to 80
