how fast are the monkeys in his videos

Less weird, less experimental, less boring. Automata is Nier: The Video Game.

Automata only exists to rehabilitate Drakengard 2.

They made it so the dog can get in your way, bumping into you and shit during the El Gigante fight in RE4 Remake so I am forced to conclude the developers of this game hate Resident Evil 4, and God.

Suddenly felt bad and exhausted (Maybe Rudesday Weekend caught up to me) so layed in bed and played 3DS.

Did one Dungeon in Link Between Worlds. Love Dungeoning. Think the overworld is a little bit of a pain. Also all the dungeons look the same but I have that complaint about LttP as well.

The 3DS is a great place to play Virtual Boy games though. Just ran through a few quick ones: Jack Bros, Nesterā€™s Funky Bowling, Galactic Pinball. Music in Jack Bros is great. Maybe there was a mechanic I didnā€™t understand but the first boss seemed like a complete pain and when I died I had to do the whole puzzle again and turned it off.

Virtual Boy games seem better than 32x games. Because they are finished games even when they are not good. Changing the color also makes them much more bareable on the eyes. Playing VB on the 3DS again, fantastic. So glad I can do that now. Need to hurry up and hack everything else in my house.

got all gold medals in Parking Garage Rally Circuitā€¦ one of those games that feel extremely impressive and incredibly slight at the same time. absolutely enamored with the combination of checkpoint-based vertically expansive stages which twist around themselves and the idea to allow you to endlessly increase your max speed by chaining boosts, it allows for endless optimization of your playstyle, always goading you to push it even further even though every precise jump and turn becomes more impossible the faster you go. it taps into that mario kart 8 200cc vibe of stages being tuned for vehicles that are slower than you, and it enhances the driving fantasy so well. I couldnā€™t get enough of the sensation, especially that drifting is tuned to near perfection, and you constantly have to let go of the accelerate button for a split second in order to avoid crashing. not a moment feels automatic, some tracks evolve from lap to lap, and I really appreciate how much care was put in giving you different visual presets (original hardware, PC port, modern emulator) that look radically different.

at the same time, idk, whenever I thought about the framing of the game I got sort of bummed out. I get itā€™s a budget thing, I get itā€™s a marketing angle, and there are some really fun ideas for these parking garages, but thereā€™s something extremely anti-aspirational and tiresome about the combination of abandoned mall lot aesthetic, rather barren UI, a cutesy ska soundtrack, smash bros. announcer, and all the other small memberberries. itā€™s not entirely dissimilar to the way forza feels spiritually draining to me while gran turismoā€™s aesthetic and sheer belief in The Transformative Power of Motorsportsā€¦! makes it come across like a fulfilling experience. the more I play racing games the more I realize the aesthetic part of the fantasy is at least as important as the mechanical one to me. give me a reason to believe you see God in these cars.

I have now seen this term twice in two days, it is my first exposure, and I need to know who to blame for its invention.

I went to a barcade over the weekend and played most of Time Crisis 2. What the hell, nobody told me this game was so cool! The fact that you and your co-op partner are both embodied, and placed in different spots in a 3D zone, thatā€™s such a cool twist for a rail shooter. It felt so cool to snipe guys across the area who were creeping up on my partner.
