teen star lord’s family must’ve been loaded. That room is huge
It’s a basement and I think the first person perspective makes it seem a li’l bigger than it “is” but I went like “Wow this is huge and this kid has way more shit than anyone that age in that decade in that income bracket could possibly have” but it didn’t tick me off cuz the actual stuff didn’t seem too anachronistic
Also cuz of the tissues
Thank you poster who gifted me Say No! More! a while back. I remember your gift.
I played it. The whole game balances on maybe being extremely racist. It has all (male?) Germans doing funny voices in English. You pair a funny ESL voice with a brown skinned woman character model and I gotta start tugging my collar.
It is basically a fantasy of what if you could change a billionaire’s mind. And you know billionaires are people too, that are ultimately sad inside.
I more or less guess that was the case and it is like…motivational more than anything else. So yeah okay.
70 minutes or so long.
love the visual style of this
I get the teenage horny joke but also I sneeze at random and sometimes I’m in bed so statistically I’m gonna sneeze in bed. Seems pretty normal to have tissues nearby?
but do you sneeze… in bed
i sneeze when i’m horny (no one asked) i know…
some people have those tissues to cry in bed…
(btw I cry when I masturbate)
s… so do i. I thought I was the only one. wtf is that??
I sneeze very often, 5 to 7 powerful ones in a row, I don’t like it!!
Thats not me talking about horny levels or whatever, I just sneeze a lot
STARLORD DOESNT SNEEZE HE ONLY CRANKS IT
When I got into hard video games as a kid I Genuinely Hated Ikaruga, none of it felt fair or fun and the games brevity as an arcade shooter felt archaic in a landscape where games like GT3 and Sunshine gave you more bang for your buck.
When I got into Treasure after playing Gunstar Super Heroes as a teen i Pretended To Love Ikaruga, it felt like their most consise statement on their action manifesto and refined a lot of the rough edges Silvergun had and as Game Design As Story Telling between the haiku’s each round and the ending that I’m surprised doesn’t get brought up more when people talk about emergent storytelling or whatever felt like a gold standard for the genre (still believe this part)
When I got into SHmups in general around my early 20’s i Pretended To Dislike Ikaruga, despite always rating well on whatever lists were made that year having the game rethought as a puzzle game and a lot of disparate elements that never seemed to compliment each other when going to forms of replayability that make the CAVE’s or the Capcom’s or the Tecnosoft’s replayable in ways I never really understood but felt compelled to respect anyway.
Having replayed it a couple of times about to enter my 30s and looking at the rumoured RSG rerelease I Actually Like This Game. Polarity shifting feels a lot better in this than Mirage (or Psyvariar if you’re contrarian), the sound mixing especially is something I rarely see commented on like the way the track stops dead in stage 2 as you fly into the base or the clouds pierce the skies in stage 1 or the entire finale of the game.
It’s still fun if a bit easy for me now but as far as mainstream representation of shmups go this doesn’t deserve half the flack it gets for trying something different. Can’t wait for Ubusana, might even play Kokuga again someday (also why tf is Bangai O: Missile Fury not on the xbox series BC guide when their other stuff is? Their last great game!)
THEN WHY ISN’T A PLAYDATE NEXT TO HIS BED
idk but my girlfriend gets a kick out of it
sneezing while thinking about girls has been happening to me since i was (no shit) 6 years old. i asked my pediatrician and he said “you’re too young to worry about that” verbatim
Looking at Myst: Wow getting real playdate vibes off this game.
funnily enough, when the uk dreamcast mags were waging their vendetta against stgs, they would always add the caveat “but not ikaruga, at least that one’s actually fair” to their stupid rants about how gigawing or whatever was unplayably difficult
finding that take insane because Ikaruga if you’re playing it properly is way harder than any of the Takumi games
now, Gunbird 2. fuck that game.
one of the UK nintendo mags REALLY had it out for the GC port of Chaos Field for similar reasons
