i think kirbys dreamland 3 is the worst kirby game i’ve played, the levels are all so generic and boring, it feels so sluggish to play, the secret missions are usually tedious, it’s just so bland. some of the animal abilities are cool, but that’s about it

cement factory rules and in fact i think that the game and watch era of games was maybe peak nintendo design. halfway between arcade and home, with concessions to that tiny screen for ultimate readability.
honestly i played most of them on the game boy though and without fail i like the remade versions better. but i really think the design on many of those is rock frickin solid

i started playing Tomb Raider 2 (this time for the PC cuz i got an updated port to work with a controller and all that) and the first level went from some great vibes to some bullshit Indiana Jones shit where there are like “secrets” you can pick up but you have to time it extremely precisely so you don’t get impaled on spike walls.
i had to try it about ten times before shrieking “this is IMPOSSIBLE!” and just letting it go. only to witness someone in this youtube playthrough do it instantly (at around 7:15)

i’m playing barotrauma with my pals again and we’re all making funny subs
here’s the skeleton of one i patterned after an anglerfish (gotta do an art pass on it now that it functions)
making subs in this game is fun bc it’s an engineering challenge but also as a sub maker i want to do something funny. i could invest lots of time into making the perfect sub, but i much prefer giving gunners a railgun on a 360 swivel so they can accidentally blow up the ship, or engines that are faster than normal but slow down if battery runs out. subs with CHARACTER

American version is worse than Japanese. It is disappointingly conservative compared to Simon’s Quest. It lacks the focus of the first. I like Grant.
