Games You Played Today ##RELOAD

Do tell. Is it interesting yet indecipherable? I thought it was mostly L4D but with a WH40K coat of paint.

I looked at his imdb and didn’t see anything notable in terms of vidcon voices, can you elaborate?

Inside is a lot better than Limbo.

I got the secret ending ALL BY MYSELF (well, my wife helped a little). That made me feel smart.

It’s one of those games where you can try to get together and do “plot analysis,” but actually the main thrust of what’s happening is obvious and the details are impossible to completely determine. Which is a relief. You can just take it in, consider it for a moment, and that’s it.

he’s the kane of kane and lynch, star and writer of call of duty infinite warfare, he’s also varric in dragon age even though those are miserable tedious games to actually play I enjoy some of the characters, including him and sarcastic hawke in da2.

he was also the bad guy in the a-team movie and was credited with some of the writing and he uses a sig rifle and there’s a character named lynch which I’m choosing to interpret as his contributions

I quit infinite warfare to replay wolfenstein but so far it was more interesting than the last couple of boneheaded black ops ones I tried to slog though.

Yeeeeessssss

I’ve decided to try and start Spacechem as a long term side-game to plug away at a puzzle or two every so often as I’m pretty sure this is the only way I’ll ever get around to it. I fear this may be a terrible terrible idea that eventually kills my brain.

Also started up the commercial version of Flywrench. I never tried the original free version but this is a pretty tremendous little thing that tickles the twitch action part of my brain in just the right spot.

SECRET WORLD is already starting to bore me, I didn’t realise just how much of an MMO this MMO is. Also, I can’t figure out how to mend my equipment and upgrading shit seems really needlessly complicated? Also it doesn’t work?

Really, I just want to try these investigations I’ve heard so much about.

So he takes genres that often fall to meatheadedness and gives them a little grace, a little dreamy mystery.

The Michael Mann of vidcons??

If TSW confusing you this early I would advise quitting. By the time you get to Tokyo the combat system becomes as stupid and complicated as the crafting system. It’s really disappointing and I wish it didn’t traumatize me so I could play again.

Isn’t the whole game limited to a single chapter ; ) ; ) ; ) ; ) ; )

I watched the gameplay video and I think I have finally reached the point where I can no longer tolerate videogame 40K space marine talk.

I finished the main storyline of GTA V. I don’t hate it as much as I did before! I wish Franklin had a real storyline. I wish there was character development beyond “i’m angry no i’m not angry no i’m angry.” I wish that Michael treated his family better, frankly.

But it was okay! I had a good time playing while it lasted, and I was at least semi-invested in the characters. It wasn’t mind-blowing but not as bad as I thought it was going to me.

The peripheral “parody” stuff is awful, though. It’s really pointless and very South Park-y.

I wish there was a game that used the GTA engine but was a really good small story about city life. I think it could support stuff like that.

woah hold on there, let’s not compare him to The Mann just yet. he can be early steven seagal of vidcons for now

This is cheap right now so I decided to try it. And you’re right; it’s very good. I haven’t really played other open-world games aside from Steambot Chronicles so I don’t know how it compares to others, but I like the way you can just mess around with vehicles and things. Everything looks nice and the physics are a lot of fun. I had been playing for a while before I realized that there was actually a story and it wasn’t merely about turning all the red spots on the map blue.

I guess I have played another game that you might call open-world, Burnout: Paradise. Just Cause 3 kind of encompasses many elements of that game but in a more fully-realized world.

Some reviews mentioned serious performance issues, but it’s running well enough for me on PS4. I’ve had it crash two or three times but I think they must have solved the other issues with patches.

I just watched some direct to video crapfest on Netflix called A Good Man. Steven is gettin portly these days.

the bolt isn’t back on leon’s red 9 when he reloads it

THIS GAME IS GARBAGE

Also I just watched The A-Team (because I’m unemployed) and the Big Action Setpiece with the most Brian Bloom involvement resembles the Tokyo heist in Dead Men.

It’s also the only good action sequence in the movie.

This + the bit in the car with his commentary on the incompetence of the CIA goons who intend to kill him make me suspect he did a “make my own parts cooler” pass.

Did I just miss all the Pathologic talk around here? Cause man, the first 10 minutes of this game are more interesting than all the fantasy droning in Skyrim put together.

The heck, Cuba. You got me all excited that the remake was out :<

IT IS THE BEST

Easily top three, closest we have to capital-L literature that isn’t Mother 3

Most sticky atmosphere I’ve ever seen; somehow the magic of videogame lets them do allegory and be specific together (and I love me some allegory stories)

Pair it with Eidolon
