Games You Played Today Oratorio Tangram

I guess Aloy’s an OK person but her outfit’s a little too Oregon Country Fair and I prefer my beautiful, always in need of replenishment yarn son.

I was lukewarm on the demo. It’s quite beautiful but… there was just something… empty about it.

It is Extremely Generic Twee With Emotions!! Indie Puzzle Platformer and the physics/controls are fiddly but it’s on sale and it turns out I find the little yarn man extremely charming. Would only recommend to anyone if they thought they had it in them to be v. charmed by a yarn son on an idle adventure.

I am also playing FF7 again, but this time in German to try and broaden my vocabulary and holy shit does this game have some words in it.

At least you get to ̶p̶l̶a̶y̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶g̶a̶m̶e̶ read slowly at 60Hz. 50 HURTS.

I also got STEEP in the psn sale.

During the intro snowboard mission I sort of idled into a crevice next to a boulder and rocked gently there until some accident of gamephysix popped me out of it but then I couldn’t get up to my checkpoint on the board so I opened up the SPORTS WHEEL by holding R1 to get off my board and my dude suddenly yelled YEAAAAAAAAAAH THIS OUR PLACE! OUR TIME! AND OUR WORLD FOR THE TAKING!

Videogames are here to stay.

i wish steep felt remotely nice to play

I bought Alwa’s Awakening on sale and my initial reaction was that it’s a run-of-the-mill Metroid-like
Then I started sequence breaking like 20 minutes into the game, and wondering to myself, “Am I sequence breaking or is it just really difficult to get to this area?”

I looked it up, and sure enough, the developers left in several ways to sequence break with skilled movement. I appreciate this game.

Does the yarn kid unravel himself and die doing some final task at the end of the game

I cannot allow myself to imagine this fate for my handsome and stout yarn boy.

I tried searching for that photoshopped kanye west tweet of him yelling FUCK YARNY but instead I got owned by a search results page where the 2nd result went to a website called largeporntube dot com

I keep stumbling across across herds of angry robodinos whilst running down hogs.

I’m mad at myself for making a character in Morrowind with Spear and Block skills, forgetting that you can only block with a shield and that there aren’t any one-handed spears…

I’d rather play vanilla but I also don’t want to abandon the character :weary:

there’s a mod that adds spearshields

It wasn’t until nearly midnight last night that I got a chance to play video games. I was going through the intro to Horizon: Zero Dawn when a friend sent me a PSN message, persuading me to try Spelunker World. We played co-op until 3 a.m.

(I will probably play Spelunker World again in the future. If anyone here plays it and would like to co-op sometime, let me know. Apparently you can have up to six players at once.)

I love the Tozai Spelunker games. They shine in co-op. I remember telling people Spelunker HD was “the Demon’s Souls of platformers” and that was maybe cute because that shit hadn’t been driven into the ground yet! I never got too into World cuz of the f2p elements but Spelunker Party is the same game (I think?) with maybe an improved grind? Or maybe not. I mostly played the Switch import. I had no clue how anything worked. I just liked the tiny hops and dying a lot.

It’s $20 on Steam now. I paid over twice that for it on Switch! I’m the reason why this game is coming over cuz whenever I buy an import game it’s announced for English release within a week. If there’s an import you’re interest in let me know! Maybe I will buy it and make dreams come true.

I told myself I wouldn’t buy anything this weekend but I might weaken and get this + Caladrius Blaze.

I don’t know yet whether Spelunker World is aggressive about trying to get you to buy things. It looks like there are “legendary” items that you get a chance to collect using the in-game currency (which so far I have plenty of for free, maybe because it’s easier playing co-op).

I get the impression that you never actually need the special items, though. Even the best ones they tease you with seem to simply do things like let you survive a couple bomb blasts or start with extra flares or lives.

The other thing you can use that currency for is continuing rather than starting the level over when you die. But if you play with other people, they can revive you for free as many times as you want.

I will report back if the game convinces me to spend real money. Unless I am too embarrassed to have spent real money. Though if I really like the game I might do as I did with Let It Die, and buy something just to support the game even though I never really need to.

Tru Hoplite Murderheads will have Spear AND Block AND either Short or Long Blade so you can switch between your two weapon sets for no reason at all

Nintendo Pocket Football Club is so good. It’s a cute, much simpler Football Manager. I wish I had a little more control strategically though, just being able to asign a position to push forward would be enough. One of my guys looks really old.

I picked up Gargoyle’s Quest via the 3DS cyber sale deal as I’m much more likely to plat a rom I pay for. I was always curious about the game as I recall it being praised ages ago before Demon’s Crest came out and stole all of its thunder.

I had no idea it was basically Adventure of Link if the combat portions were more platformer-heavy and it had an all demon cast.

Morrowind update: I installed the one-handed spears mod and it’s been going well for me–wait a minute

oh shit what the fuck is that
