I own a copy of the DS game River King: Mystic Valley. It’s very bare bones though.

Managed to beat the boss in Downwell. Someone pointed out to me that having the laser for the final boss makes a world of difference, and they were not lying. Also having it click in my head that the gun’s ability to slow your fall is as important as it’s ability to shoot enemies.
Hard mode is just a bit ridiculous. I had a great run where I made it as far as 2-3, but most of my runs were ending in the first areas. I do not think that beating it will be a realistic goal for me.
Today i played some Betrayer, that game looks good and I like how they do the enemies. I even got stortled!
Then I tried out Mario 54 online, the new one, Im digging the new wys of playing mario tho i dont think peach can wall jump
I was lounging on the couch last night and saw that Vaccine was available on Switch and picked it up for the heck of it.
For anyone who doesn’t know what the game is, it’s essentially a procedurally generated survival horror/rougelike hybrid with tank controls and PS1-era graphix. You have 30 minutes for each round to find a vaccine for your buddy, items are randomly dropped and enemy placements and environments are all set pieces that could’ve come out of RE-1.
It’s fairly challenging for all the right reasons (shitty controls, breaking the 180-degree rule) and obviously condenses the experience of old school survival horror into an arcade experience with light RPG elements (you upgrade stats an such). It’s the type of game I bought the switch for and couldn’t be happier that games like it will continue at a slow drip for the near future.

I got the xcom2 expansion because it was so much cheaper on GMG than the CAD sticker price
