what are some cool 3ds homebrews, i use ninjhax
when I first started playing (I havenāt played in a while) I hand-waved away a lot of that by just enjoying the fact that itās a card game where matches take like 10-15 minutes and thatās a nice quick amount of time to spend playing something
but I absolutely hate that blizzard just emulated the M:tG random booster thing because I sure donāt want to have to spend a bunch of time or money just to get back into the meta once a new set drops!
if they just had arena give no rewards and cost no money Iād play that forever
why isnāt that a standalone thing???
thatās basically my attitude. draft in general is a fun enough experience on its own, I shouldnāt have to pay money and/or time to play it when itās a virtual game and I donāt even keep the cards like in MTG
You can easily play 100% arena without paying anything. Iāve done that for years after only paying for arena runs ~5 times near the launch of Hearthstone, and at one point I cashed in 5000 gold of accumulated arena profit into packs. At ~3 wins average you break even if you only play once every few days (counting quests) and with ~6 win average you play infinitely period. If youāre only interested in the arena mode itās not too difficult to have an above average winrate like that.
itās baffling considering that they donāt even have the paper-thin (oops hah) excuse of physical product to stop them from just making it free
Iām not good enough at the game to win more than once lol
Yeah, I might be making it sound too easy to do based on my own experience. When the game just came out everyone was atrocious at the game so I could do it right away, then I improved along with the pack and stayed above average. Nobody overvalues synergies to the point of drafting a whole deck of awful cards or sends damage spells to face on turn 2 anymore.
The barrier for new players to get into the game nowadays is even worse in constructed though. It sounds like your anxiety-inducing experience partly comes from just not winning enough even at the low ranks.
Those bastards, theyāre really going to make me buy it arenāt they
I think I had a similarly charmed experience with Duelyst ā I kickstarted it before they went F2P and they gave backers enough bonus cards that I always felt like I had enough options to cycle stuff out & unlock at a good clip without having to ever pay again
I finally got around to playing For Honor and that game kind of owns?
Iām really going to need to see some rain or a night/evening/morning scene or something soon tho
Metal Gear Solid 2 sure does have a lot of cutscenes (I have played through it at least 4 times.) It is interesting what minor new meaning scenes take with the subsequent sequels and prequels. Ocelotās role as helping out whatever Snake is making an army makes a tiny bit of sense.
Weird that none of the games outright deal with Les Enfants Terrible.
Then I booted up Peace Walker and my phone and unlocked the Monster Hunter Missions. Then remembered the PW post-game is a whole lot of grinding to be able to do the same thing again again again.
played ff5 for the first time in ages, remembered enough broken stuff to get through it in 10 hours or so andā¦ itās really pleasant
might get into the job fiesta thing this year
I posted about how dumb FF5 was in the screenshot thread, but this post makes me curious to play it again.
Yeah, youāre really making me wanna replay FF5. I havenāt touched it since I was 14
Itās the best, the jobs are colorful and the a/v is underrated as hell
The new Monster Hunt version that just came out today is great, too! I love lining up shots with the cannoneer, and the new bosses are a real delight. Kinda wish theyād let you use these four as alternate heroesā¦
Yeah I gave the mode a shot this morning. I only played the one with Scavenge because that was my quest, but she was pretty fun. Double hero power trigger for 1, combined with lowered cost for different-class spells, was a really cool combo. I got an echo card for 0 mana which was super busted.
Thereās a minion you can get with her that gets +2 spellpower every time you cast a spell, and combined with echo spells and scavenging that can get real wild. I had a lot of trouble with late-game bosses with her, though; it took me four runs to finish her quest, and I still havenāt cleared her final boss. By contrast, I finished Dariusās boss on my first attempt. Gonna head back in and try Toki after I get dinner ready.
She seems really low-powered for this mode, which sucks because sheās mechanically the most interesting to me.
how unreasonably mad will I get
