were you nine though

I run through older JRPGs every once in a while on my Vita Portable Emulation Machine. There are many Dragon Quest-likes better than FFTA2.

I just beat spec ops: THE LINE.
Good times I know it’s not everyone’s favorite, but man it’s a solid game, with some hilarious flaws. But I could use more games trying to be clever. It sure doesn’t do a good job of creating the illusion of choice, you often want to make choices you can’t, and apparently can miss ones you’d like to know you could make. It could use a codec or something…

SPOILERS!

But no, I just started this back up myself and am just nearing 100 now.

I was in the 4k holes range until I got a new phone! Now I’m only about 1k in with my restart :frowning:

This is my first time playing it, it’s more compelling than I expected it to be. I’m trying to keep my average shots per hole under 2.5, currently at like 2.45 or something.

That way lies madness and damnation

I downloaded the Nvidia Geforce Now game-streaming service beta and loaded up some random free to play shooter thing that looked like it had graphics and it was surprisingly smooth feeling over wifi to this Macbook Air, I could not tell the difference in the total of 30 seconds I spent in gameplay. I pay for gigabit but just did a speed test and it hit 175 which is the highest number I’ve ever seen it hit, for comparison.

You have to own the games on Steam/other for them to work, there is a limited library of compatible games, and the streaming itself will eventually cost money.

Neat though.

That’s what I’ve been using to stream The Moon Fields across the Midwest. It’s pretty amazing and the latency is ~3frames? Maybe less? Even though my game is pretty twitchy, it’s very playable.

Game streaming is here. It just took a decade?

It also seems like Parsec is eventually going to get their money from being a game streaming service, so hopefully the co-op streaming thing actually remains free

Elminage Original allows you to level your characters into old age, and eventually death

I’m sure I spent 5+ hours, only jumping around the rooftops of the first town. That game is packed with things to find in places you wonder if anyone thought you might look.

My favorite Elminage Original story so far is the time my evil party spared a SINGLE group of friendly monsters, and my thief, who was dead at the time, turned over a new leaf and discovered Goodness.

I had to do the “dump her in the dungeon alone, then go pick her up with the rest of the gang” shuffle until we found some more friendly enemies to mercilessly attack. (Good and Evil characters will refuse to join the same party at the tavern, but apparently meeting up in the dungeon is a-okay. Is it just a social appearances thing?)

Never played much of the Wizardry series, so it’s fun to experience The Actually Pretty Competent Direct Knockoff.
