was it at Tilt and did you win any of the prizes in the competition?
yes and absolutely not I left immediately in shame
Been playing Captain Toad
very cute, and most of the levels are pretty fun but the fucking usually-free-but-sometimes-fixed-with-no-warning camera and the āmove your hands off the controls to wiggle some shit on the touchscreen while enemies are coming for youā are totally bullshit
ssx on tourās UI is incredible. you can watch MTV2 bumpers in the extras menu and there is old spice redzone product placement. for fans of: guitar hero 2ās UI, brutal legendās title screen
i played mario odyssey for like
12 hours and missed my therapy appointment
Birch posted about Holedown a few weeks ago, and now I canāt stop playing it on my phone on the train. Itās such a simple, brainless gameā¦ But itās hard to put down. Its viscerally satisfying to send 99 balls careening and bouncing through the blocks, hitting bank shots and knocking them off the board. Itās an excellent game for listening to podcasts during. The final level, which is basically endless mode, has more staying power than I expected.
One of these days Iām going to play more than just the first mission of a random campagin in Heroes of Might and Magic III
I would just like to say that @RT-55Jās thread title and my thread title have tied for the most bloodpotions so Iām requesting that this thread be renamed
Games You Played Several Days Ago but You Donāt Want to Admit that Writing a Post Can Take You Multiple Days so You Claim You Played Them Today 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair
i played a couple of hours of west of loathing, which is that western rpg (get it) by the kingdom of loathing devs. very charming and -full- of jokes. high jpm on that one. the actual rpg elements are pretty light (the game even pops up a text box at one point that says āhey, up to now weāve just been applying xp automatically - we can keep doing that if you want!ā) but itās not as if an in-depth combat system would do much other than bog down the pacing
Heroes 3 is one of my favorite games but I donāt think Iāve ever played it outside of hotseat multiplayer
im sorry
Iāve only ever played Heroes games solo! Mostly random missions. I mostly just like the music and atmosphere.
Also:
I got back into Heroes III and played a few games earlier this year. I donāt think Iāve ever played HOMM1, 2 or 3 map to completion, despite playing a lot of these games!
Just finished Shenmue 2, and boy does it feel like a complete tonal 180 from the previous game.
If you take out the martial arts revenge parts of the first one, you basically have a reasonably grounded story about being a teenager bumming around your boring old hometown during christmas break, wasting time down in the local market playing arcade games and then having to get your first part time job and so on.
The sequel on the other hand, feels like some kind of fantasy nightmare version of what people think China is like. Every man is a Fu Manchu stereotype, every woman is wearing a qipao and every building is a weird mishmash of filthy concrete skyscrapers and traditional Chinese architectural elements, with nonsensical random layouts. The grungy looking interiors with collapsed floors and fenced off elevators along with the oppressive music made it feel like an asian themed Silent Hill at times.
Then thereās the tunnels that lead out to these weird Roman style ruins overlooking green hills, while a bunch of guys a watching a street fight.
I donāt really know much about Hong Kong in the 80s, but I am pretty sure they wouldnāt have buildings with elevators that force you to go down to the basement to find a different elevator to get you to a higher floor. If it was set in the Walled City, it would make more sense but this is just regular Kowloon.
I liked how the ending of the game was basically a 2 hour hike in the wilderness, even though it felt like it was originally supposed to be the start of a sequel that was maybe put on hiatus or something.
I played the After Burner cabinet, but there was no music and it crashed the game after I got Game Over.
It is?
It was?
two nights ago I played through Socket
last night I played through most of High Seas Havoc (fuck flying squirrels)
Iām curious and afraid what awaits my bored mind and hands tonight
I started up CrossCode, THAT IS A VIDEO GAAAAAAAAAAAAME! (about video games)
