If I post anymore about it I’m probably gonna have to reopen my quarantine thread, but I laughed really goddamn hard playing Blasphemous yesterday.

Entered a dim, strangely empty, huge room in the cathedral area that had the sorta frog-hopping enemies and seemingly nothing else. “Kind of a weird waste of sp-” right as an absolutely colossal thurible (thank you for letting me know the name of those things, @shrug) swung down from out of nowhere and sent me flying.

I think the comparisons to Dark Souls are a bit of a stretch, but that moment…that’s the closest to a Dark Souls moment I’ve had yet.

New Vegas is on the back burner, and poor SMT3…lost in the abyss.

In a fun, new “you can’t go back” moment for me, I poked through my Steam library and saw I had Tomb Raider Legend. “Oh, cool! I liked this on PS2!”

Now I’m asking myself…why. Why did I finish this game. Controls like shit, looks ugly as hell, the story and acting blows.

Maybe I was thinking of Anniversary. Had to have been (I think I played Legend afterwards).

Also stealth Blasphemous update, I gotta sneak it in - at the “goddamnit I should have been tagging the map” stage of almost-finished clean-up. Missing three bones, three of the little cherubs, two rosary knots. I’ve got a quest that I got the gist of and looked up and basically gotta think through the map to do (it involves killing three enemies in three very distant locations, all without saving or teleporting, and taking an item to a room in the middle of it all).

Also gotta do these platforming challenges by an unexpected character that caught me off guard, Miriam from Bloodstained.

This game stresses me the hell out but I’m glad I’ve finally gotten around to it. It’s gotta be those Spanish guitars…puts me at ease.

got the platinum trophy for Rally Cross. it’s kinda nice to roll thru a classic game and see those little glittery notifications pop up. playing on a ps5 is rarely ideal; the ps1 up-rezzing to 1080p is kind of gauche and the shaders are effectively worthless… but i do like having rewind. and it’s always interesting what kind of shenanigans they expect you to get up to in these classic games for a trophy. this game largely had easy ones. the only real tricky trophies were get 800+ points in a championship (vet or pro), and beat your best lap on 3 consecutive laps in unlimited laps mode. had a lot of fun figuring out the best way to get the latter done without just wiping my already-robust set of saved record times.

I played some of this game last night. It’s a charming little freeware “Metroidvania.”

Once every 90 days or so I get sucked into a free-to-play time-sink for a few hours and this time it was Too Many Slimes. It’s not worth talking about, really.

started playing helldivers, hifi rush, and starfield all simultaneously and am enjoying them all even though that amounts to maybe 20 minutes of each a day

it’s like I successfully disposed of a lot of stress or something

snagged the classic fallout games from GoG. Kinda feel like chargen is way too important, and it’s making me slow to start.

beat an opponent in summon night swordcraft story by eating hits and healing until her weapon broke

I quit the game because if I wanted a full item collection I had to do this for every boss fight in the game, since breaking weapons is the only way to learn how to make them.

have you played wizkid? it’s not a toilet game, but there is a section where you flush yourself down 100+ different toilets in search of secret rooms and also you can get a condom from a vending machine and inflate it to float away to another stage

is it a free mobile game? if not I’ll still play it

OK, done with Blasphemous (or as done as I’m gonna get - 97.4% completion or something). Didn’t do the glass shard challenges, and I guess there’s a lot of extra boss fights in NG+ if you play on a higher difficulty. But…life is short. I’m good.

Was pretty funny to land the killing blow on the final-final boss, only to fall to my death and do it all over again. Wasn’t too hard a fight, just a “damn, really” moment.

Alright, back to deciding who I’m gonna side with…House or NCR…

Gonna edit this instead of make a new post, but digging around a bit and not only is there a lot of stuff in NG+, but I completely missed the hidden arcade machine in the sewers (I saw that little rat disappear into the wall but never thought to investigate). Guess it’s best I left it to the end, because it costs a lot of currency per play, and it’s…not exactly hard, but has one very difficult section that’s tricky to survive with only 3 HP.

The NES Jason Voorhees and GB green style skins you can get out of it are kinda cute.

I finished this game. It’s short and the developer says it was created in 18 hours. That’s impressive. It’s stylish throughout. The very last segment was kind of a hassle and took me a few tries.
