have you ever played Gotzendiener? It’s about a princess who was abducted and is about to be saved by a hero when he dies shortly after killing the big bad (or something, it’s been a while). she frees herself, and has to escape the castle. it has a very similar vibe to ICO but without having to lead somebody around.

yeah playing with a character you feel drawn to is the key to enjoying a fighting game imo. no need to think about tiers or whatever until you reach a certain degree of brain poisoning
