Totally think ‘save system design’ is a real part of design, but Arkane is so Respectful of PC Heritage that I don’t think they’d ever abandon degenerate quicksaves.
The Alien Isolation comparison definitely shines poorly on Prey when we talk about save system design.
same here, i have a lot of thoughts i want to put into words (on PC though, that doesn’t work on android/tablet with the crappy keyboard input that’s totally broken, alas it may take a day more until i will come back to it).
I get that, but like it could’ve still have been smarter about it given that constraint. As a player with good intentions to set self-imposed rules to avoid quicksave abuse, I would be OK with just a definition of what “abuse” consists of.
I see there are autosaves, is the game designed to be excellent on Hard if I fully rely on those? Or would that cause a wildly unfair situation at some point? (Like, for all I know, it is in fact tightly designed to be played autosave-only, but if it doesn’t tell me it is, I have to start by assuming it’s like HL1 and I should save before every small battle.)
was working on maybe getting all the things in bayonetta but playing easy mode changed my mind cause wow does it suck to have no control over your combos. and all i’ll get for finishing it is the item that makes me play like that on other difficulties? yeah, i can be without
I played on Hard and enemies beyond the basic headcrabs can definitely fuck you up. Pretty sure the autosave triggers each time you go through a loading screen, which early on is not terribly often but later happens all the time. Pretty sure I did a standard quicksave before each substantial battle thing but ended up savescumming very rarely. It’s more reflex than anything
Has anyone done saves with a cooldown? I feel like 10 minutes would be reasonable
this idea could have a fun diegetic explanation too. I like it!
playing dead by daylight is all i do when i’m not tasting other random games
my matches go much like this

Yeah, pretty much. I played through the full tutorial island of 46 puzzles and felt like I saw pretty much all the game had to show, so I simply stopped. It’s solid and wouldn’t be bad to knock a few puzzles out every so often when killing time, but it’s much more of a “chill” puzzle game than a “make you think hard” one.
greedfall is jank but not in a good way what do i play next
Kenshi is jank but in the best way
3rd Strike. I lose to some Uriens and all Hugos. Played a jedi mind trick Alex, too.
Once in Starcraft 2 a guy whined over and over that I was a heartless monster since he had just had 9 wins in a row and winning this game would give him the “10 wins in a row” achievement
to quote myself from somewhere else, after i replayed it a bit:
A game for people who want to die in the wasteland and whose idea of a quest is tracking down the toughest gang leader in the desert and getting your ass kicked by his buddies.
I love Kenshi so much. Immersive sim as RTS/RPG. Truly awkward systems disaster of a game, and better for it.
whoa
Anyone else really hate games without a free camera where half the screen is out of focus due to depth of field wankery?
It gives me like, virtual eyestrain trying to focus those backgrounds when I look up at that part of the screen.
very cool its model based though
this is hell to me
I thought the New Year’s card looked fine but that screenshot is worst case depth of field overuse.
Apple Arcade booo
