Scourge of Armagon is pretty good, if you’re lookin for more official content. I didn’t play much of expansion 2, Dissolution of Eternity, but wasn’t very impressed with it either.

finished bastion in one go after years of meaning to play it properly

it was fine

nice action rpging for thems that like that sort of thing. I found that all the weapons were “fun enough” without any being TOO FUN. immaculately balanced to get a 7/10 from me

Alien Resurrection for the PS1.

Now here is a perfect example of how to create tension beyond mere jump-scares and blatant darkness. The secret is having no music to underscore the game; just pure sound effects. And THAT is why it’s so intense. With the tracking-node bleeps of encroaching xenomorphs to the engulfing of industrial ambience from the environments, it creates a nice combination of tension and dread that is quite rare to see in video games of today.

Golf Story got some fuckin’ Sierra On-Line music, like I got some real crummy soundcard but I suspect these melodies would still be irritating even if the instrument samples didn’t sound like shitty presets, like I should be asking every other golfer if they know anything about voodoo.

The rest of the game is quite slick and I think it’s kinda charming – it’s not an American game! You gotta read this dialogue in an Australian accent! It kinda works that way!! But wow that music wow how do you spend 10 years on a game and settle for some tunes ripped from some sample CD, how you got your game sounding like it came outta the Lillian Vernon catalog, why isn’t there a PC version so I can replace all these tracks with the Neo Turf Masters soundtrack.

I turned the music off eventually and it’s fine, it’s a cute game, I’m in a bad mood and can’t focus on anything for more than 5 minutes but it seems to be the rare revival that’s actually well done and good and doesn’t make me wonder why I’m not playing GBC Mario Golf instead. I am putting all my points into Power. Control and spin are for cowards. I wanna drive it as deep as I can with my powerful wood. I’M A MAN, BABY

killer7 officially trash. Making me wait 20 second after every line of dialogue, wasting my fucking time. Fuck this, fuck every single sham game auteur, this game is probably 3 hours long if you could skip all of Travis’ gobble gobble bulllshit

ive been bit by the cataclysm bug(while i was looking @ all the roguelikes i have experience w/ to write about i caught it, definitely made my first thread bad) , i am not especially good at writing stories about what i get up to in that game but here’s a progress pic of my tragic clown

i cleared out a few houses in a neighborhood and found some tacticool clothes and a meth lab rv to store all my ill gotten gains in

ive also got a tool belt with a coffee cup hanging on it, like every self respecting dad clown should

For some time and with mild curiosity, I’ve been eyeing the unyielding stream of budget JRPGs that Kemco releases for the Switch (and other platforms). Most of these games are developed by either of two studios: EXE Create and Hit-Point. I’m more drawn to Hit-Point’s games for mainly aesthetic reasons. Unlike EXE Create, Hit-Point seems to favour first-person, turn-based battle systems and less lofty character designs.

Anyhow, I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy one of these games during the current eShop holiday sale. I chose a Hit-Point developed game called… [pause to check notes] …Bonds of the Skies.

I won’t try to recommend the game nor say “this is good actually,” but I’m having fun with it. I feel refreshed by how unambitious, unexciting, and ultimately unpretentious it is. This is an acceptable video game in the style of 1990s 16-bit JRPG, and there’s nothing else of note to say about it!
