Iāve been playing Among Us and itās an OK version of the usual Mafia/Werewolf/hidden role game but youāre on a space station that needs to be maintained. I find the minigame tasks where you fix a part of the ship super relaxing. I know theyāre meant to distract you from keeping track of information that helps identify the impostor but I could honestly just fix a ship that keeps breaking while chatting to friends all day.
Weāve experimented with only talking during emergency meetings and talking all the time and talking all the time is fun but is extremely hard for the impostor who has to constantly lie and not be called out just before a kill. I feel a bit bad for the developers who are experiencing sudden and unexpected massive success. Itās characteristic of a recent trend where masses of people glob on to a relatively smaller scale project whose servers buckle under demand. If you can get into a game itās a fun time with friends. I donāt know how you derive any pleasure from playing a public game though.
I also played the game below and it was OK. I got all the keys but couldnāt progress much further. Itās basically an abstract adaptation of American feminismās struggle through/with the Trump-era. Having Trump yell āUnited States!ā in my ear was some kind of horror.
Evergrace!
It is very much an early PS2 game. The pieces should add up to something I love, but itās in an awkward space. Midway between Kingās Field and Demonās souls, it is too detailed for the emptiness to feel lonely or iconic and too drab to appear baroque.
Beautiful color palettes paint the landscapes. I particularly love the harmony between the turquoise and amber. However, something about the scale is off. The framing doesnāt look right. Thereās a distance between me and the avatar I control.
The combat system is somewhat intriguing, relying on an obtuse set of attributes reminiscent of Vagrant Story. Equipment can contain pieces of Palmira, a crystallized essence from the mystical Billiana trees. Palmira grants magical abilities like super speed, levitation, and fireballs. In practice, this means testing out abilities against enemies to see what hurts them the most. I came to an area where all of my offensive abilities, save one, healed the monsters. I have to admire that level of antagonism. My favorite combat moment was when I came up against a boss whose attacks would slice off big chunks of my health. I tried various weapons to no avail. I finally defeated her by buying a new weapon that had a āguard breakerā attack. Using this attack, I could hit stun the boss and interrupt her attack animation. I will not let a game break me. I will break the game.
Despite its shortcomings, thereās a lot that I like. I enjoy the stilted dialogue and poor voice acting. It just makes things more alien. I love how your equipment changes your appearance. I found a birdās nest once and was delighted to find that I could wear it as a hat. You can even change the colors of your equipment too. For 2 hours, Iāve seen a good chunk of the game. I think Iāll pick it back up once Iāve dabbled in Fantavision and Ridge Racer V.
playing L4D2 again after many, many, many years
I do not remember fall damage heights at all and am therefore a liability
really enjoyed revisiting ff6 for the first time in ~10 years
remembered enough to get through it in about 12 hours, though this time i went out of my way to get some of the more ridiculous of gauās rages: rafflesia has a charm ability that works on everything including kefka and unlike the charm status in most games doesnāt wear off as soon as the enemy is attacked, love it
This is interesting and I wonder how many alternative āstoriesā there are. Yuri admitted going through the seals in mine but also claims he took Dainonigate (demon boy) through with him but then whereās the second space helmet for a two person trip? The only other one I could find was abandoned by Lydia in the docks. Dainonigate is implied to have created the portal back to his room by having inherited Carmelinaās architect powers and Yuri just kinda gives up and leaves. Also Yuriās petals are apparently enough to place him at the scene of the crime but theyāre not like fingerprints, anyone could easily frame him if this enough to place someone at the scene. I think I mustāve just missed some clues about the Death Scream device.
Iām amazed at how much I can recall about the case after a couple of days. My final play session was basically me creating a rope-corkboard diagram on paper while I Frakesed aloud to myself.
There is a way to change the sensitivity.
this snx thing doesnt recognize my xbones left analog stick
Part 2 of free game party time:
Uncharted 4
Time to sewer:35 minutes
Time to crate: 40 minutes
Iāve never played an uncharted or been recommended one and I see why.
This is the ultimate suburban white man fantasy.
In one part you like kill half a south American prisonās guards after your buddy murders a guy he didnāt need to as part of a plot to plunder some treasure. Then in a scene back home years later you can reenact your adventures by shooting nerf darts in your man cave. Then go down stairs for some pasta and play-station with your supportive new wife.
Killing tons of people for shot at plunder is just a little side adventure for this totally normal HGTV dude.
The game itself has had like 6 modes so far:
- Climb the structure in the one right way,
1.5 Parkour! - Solve a baby puzzle,
- Beat the shit out of 5 brown guys,
- Murder 100 brown men with a gun,
4.5 Murder 100 brown men while riding a machine, - Sneaky heisty times (that I suspect will end in more murder).
Its such a bouncy blockbuster of a games and its so soul tiring.
The real damning evidence against Yuri about the second seal is him killing the guy who created the second seal. (K TX? Something like that) Yuri can slip up about it before the trial if you show him enough evidence.
I just went through the trial again and the plan was: Akiko creates a diversion with Henry, Akiko murders the two guards / prisoners at the first seal, Yuri goes through. Carmilla, on Witnessā balcony, teleports through the portal, grabs Demon Kid, teleports to the council, hands Demon Kid over to Yuri, who goes through the second seal with DK. DK goes through Seal 3 and 4 and kills everyone, Yuri leaves and DK is supposed to be stuck but he manages to create a portal.
Yeah I still donāt have the details on how Yuri got through space with the demon kid but thatās not a big plot hole? It can be explained by Ā« Yuri had two helmets and threw both in different places Ā»
Yeah I also still remember what happened really well for a mystery murder game like this.
In comparison usually I canāt recreate the events of a Phoenix Weight case, like, one hour after finishing it!
played act 3 of kentucky route zero. my gf is a poet by training so she likes to watch and partake of all the artsy moments
the webasm tutorial that max wrote to accompany that is really good!
Herzog Zwei is fricking hard, took me 90 minutes to beat the first mission
Iāve been taking a break from Warframe, so Iāve got nothinā to say on that front.
I have been worming my way through Blasphemous and, now that Iāve got a couple skills under my belt and some degree of competence at it, I would say that itās alright. Enjoyinā the music and visuals and mood quite a bit.
Iāve played a bit of Hades lately and, well, if someone told me that in 2020 Iād play a videogame that would make me jealous of a boulder and I wasnāt here living that reality Iād have laughed 'em right off the continental shelf. Shockingly enough, itās a pretty fun isometric brawl 'em up/shoot 'em up to boot. 58 hours in and it still feels pretty fresh to play which is neat.
Played a few hours of Where the Water Tastes Like Wine, long enough to wander my way south to Florida, west along the southern border to California, then north through California where my interest ran out. Sure did enjoy the music, the wandering was decent too, as were the mini stories. Well, for awhile, anyhow. After making it to California the āHey, letās go over here and see who we seeā-aspect of the game wore thin, and the āWell, that sure is a lot of points of interest I need to track down and collectā-aspect eclipsed it enough that I simply didnāt have any further interest in continuing.
Anyway, thereās a miracle to overturn and penitence to be payed, so thatās enough rambling, off to Blasphemous.
God Iām addicted to Hades, the gameplay loop is so great
Hades dialogue is this tweet x1000
There are almost no traditional story events and most of the dialogue is either 1) short back and forth dialogue with each of the 9 characters in the pre-run lobby, or 2) small messages from the gods when you pick up their respective abilities mid-run
Yet the devs boasted than they added more dialogue than all of Bastionās, in just one update?
I mean itās kind of impressive at this point. But it doesnāt transcend its limitations like Dark Souls (telling its story through item descriptions) or Dinosaur Comics. At most youāll feel Ā« Neat that this character acknowledges that I did X thing Ā» Most of the time it just feels like Ā« Kill the wolves again Ā»
I appreciate that theyāve managed to pull it off though, thatās wild
creating a spreadsheet for me and katās system/continuum flux notes for starflight for the genesis. this game is awesome. i wonder if @Tulpa would appreciate it.

Iāve done a lot of soul searching and I just wanted to announce that Iām a Super Smash Bros. Melee player. Please understand that this is a very difficult decision, and your patience will be appreciated.
