I have played video games all my life and L3 threw me.

This was the case for me as well. I was playing SpyHunter and I was supposed to press L3 for something. I had no idea what L3 was. Eventually I either looked it up or asked someone. On PS4, whenever L3 or R3 do anything in an action game, I do that thing by accident constantly and it irritates me.
