like the ubisoft fps game? the best part of that is when you hit guys with wooden chairs to knock them out and your guy insists on holding onto the seat afterwards so he can dramatically toss it away. also it’s a solid 4 hours long which is about as tolerable as an fps campaign can be

I feel like I’ve lost my perfect radar for detecting movies and games I know I’ll like just from a screenshot or short headline. I feel clueless about any media I hear about. I can’t tell how much is me getting old and losing any sense of taste and how much is having to wade through an ever expanding ocean of steam/netflix-marvel shovelware

Reminds me of the intro they added in Sega Ages Herzog Zwei

This character design is kinda Etrian Odyssey too

Yep that’s the one. I appreciate the comic letters giving you little cues about movement or just as dramatic flare when someone falls off a ledge or whatever. The broken chair seat holding is annoying because I always think you can use the seat to knock someone else out.

I hear the remake is awful compared to the original which is already apparently not great. But again, I’m enjoying the romp so far!

Girlfriend and I started A Way Out last night. Seems very cool so far. She’s the hot head and I’m the rational dude. She was quick to pick my guy at first but then read the description and was like, nope, gotta admit, that’s not me lol So now I’m on the left screen even though I’m sitting on the right, which is weird at first but my brain can handle it

I like the whole play at the same time in different areas of the level, it’s pretty fun

I asked her what she thought about Until Dawn and she also wasn’t that into it. But we’ll probably play more eventually. Maybe as a bedtime story I play for her so she can shut off and get tired. God of War was not good for that because the way Kratos handles child rearing agitates her.

I just played Putrid Shark a very short little walk-around-doing-sidequests kind of game that’s in the Palestinian Aid megabundle from Itch.

It was… interesting, I guess. Sorta prodded at the idea of personal agency, in a way that was clearly supposed to poke at the player. I think it might have been a little clumsy, but I forgive it because there were also two or three pretty funny bits of dialogue. Not the worst 30 minutes of my life, I guess.

I forgot Sleeping Dog just ends. The story wraps up in a plot summary way but none of the emotional trails dangled the whole game are resolved.

Also the DLC where you tear gas crowds fucking sucks.

But which Hong Kong? Credits.

I had a fun enough time with it though. Fun to playthrough again. Now I can start staring at all these shooters I got.

But can go ahead and pass on Contra:Rogue Corps and Nex Machina because twin sticks shooters hurt my hands.

Which makes me wonder why I bought Xenocrisis.

Fuck I forgot Rogue Corps is always online so you can’t even pause oh well this game is over.

Getting hazed by Civ on my first game in probably 5 years.

That Wizard of Wor/Alien/Night Stalker/Crossroads maze shooter formula is so good. I’ve been playing a lot of all of those lately.

Alien Death Mob is in the huge bundle, even though it just came out.

(So is Destructivator 2 by the same dev.)

this game is one of the most like, awful games I’ve played in recent memory, despite its basic playability

BUT

It has a Rocket League mode where you shoot the ball into a grinder, which is immediately stupid, but also kind of fun?

Will try it tomorrow before I give up.

no i mean, it really is awful. to the point that i think it is not worth playing because it’s not even interestingly bad. it’s a loot shooter where every piece of loot is like “5% increase in reload speed” or “.3 seconds reduced cooldown”, and you get 19 of them per level so it’s not even worth sorting through them.

i would feel like i had not done my duty if i didn’t really try to steer you away from the game. there will be an episode of Co-op Button on it in like, 2 weeks if you want more details.

anyway don’t let me dissuade you if you truly want to experience the most boring contra game in history, but it really is truly non-notable.

I played a few games today. I played:

The Legend of Kassappa, a snooker-dungeon crawler thing which is pretty neat but I don’t know if I’ll put much time into it.

The Flame in the Flood, which once I settled a bit into its rhythms I was starting to enjoy although my first run ended in disaster at the tusks of a vicious feral hog!

HackyZack which I very much like the idea of, but I’m afraid it won’t be long before it exceeds my skill/patience. I was not expecting a nu-jazz kinda soundtrack for a game that looks like this:

There’s already a Hinge Problems complaining about it. I meant the soccer mode. Maybe I’ll even sit and try to find a lobby. I couldn’t right after release!

I’ve been working on writing something about the Journey to Splash Mountain map in Left 4 Dead 2, which is like a really detailed recreation of Disneyland. Would anyone be interested in playing through it with me in a group of four? Sometime this afternoon, or in the evening?

:yellowthingpig:

I would love to but Japan and Baby and Laptop. I am almost certainly The Big Disney Park Fan of SB.
