my boyfriend absolutely demolished me at guardian heroes pvp, I could only win a single round and that’s because we had a mirror match using the basic wolf enemy that doesn’t have a guard button :woman_facepalming:

game is beautiful though

today a package came to me containing a qanba dragon which i am paying off in perpetuity. i havent had an arcade stick since the tekken 6 hori on 360. sanwa lever is hefty, I have to really give it to the circular motions. i’ll get used to it.

the funniest / most tragic event in strive today was when the cord came out and i lost control of leo against a chipp. he thought i threw and didnt rematch :'c

Damn, GTA San Andreas is a long one. It gets pretty boring pretty fast too. Los Santos and the country side are fun for their own reasons (Los Santos is fun to explore and do missions in, country side is fun to explore), but San Fierro is so boring. I’m basically only playing so I can take in Las Venturas. Hope it’s kind of a combo of the fun country side environment with the more varied missions of Los Santos.

San Fierro is reminding me of the second island from GTA 3, but not in a good way.

When I was playing Strive with the Xbox Elite controller, every couple of hours I’d flip the magnetic dpad right off the controller and have to pick it off the floor in a hurry

What was funny though is that several times, my opponent was spooked by my sudden samurai-like stillness, and hesitated to attack long enough for me to get the dpad back on

San Andreas really should have been entirely Los Santos, I feel like they realized this and did GTA V mostly in this style; it’s really the best part of the game, especially with the gang-controlled territory bits, it would have been a far better game if they’d managed to rein themselves in and kept the scope to that level.

The worst part is your first Las Vegas mission sends you straight back to San Fran and then you get stuck on those horrible James Woods flying missions till you never touch the game again (12 years and counting.)

Re: Wolfenstein
I have just finished Manhattan and, for now, gameplay wise New Colossus is even better than New Order. More tense, more varied.

Tonally, it’s weirder and grim, and the nazi characterization is more generic, and I prefer the approach of the first one. Let’s see how things evolve.

My biggest issue with SA is just how gated off everything is. HEY GUYS WE MADE THE BIGGEST GTA WORLD YET BUT NO YOU CAN’T JUST RUN AROUND IN IT UNTIL YOU JUMP THROUGH ALL OUR HOOPS

In a short interview, Wren (the creative director of Unpacking) introduced why they created this game and what influenced them: unpack experience with Tim Dawson, the game Florence and Gone Home, the song “The bed song” by Amanda Palmer.

Yep, I’m still playing Unpacking, one day a room.

I literally (but also knowingly, dramatically) pulled out a small bit of my hair when I played those flying missions as a kid.

I’ve been playing Exo One. From the little I saw of it back whenever I first heard about it, I thought it was strictly a flying game. But it’s actually similar mechanically to Tiny Wings (or whatever game did that first if it wasn’t Tiny Wings).

So far I’ve seen a few of the worlds (and encountered some interesting bugs). I haven’t watched this video but it seems to show what the game is like.

been playing a bit of this too. it feels like a flash game with a huge budget.

fast striker is a game whos developers made many poor decisions

the people making the trophies for the ps4 port of wizard fire were not very confident in the game’s appeal, there are trophies just for playing for 5, 30, and 60 minutes

also that game is hard

played another indie inspired by Aztec mythology, love its vibe but not very good puzzles

so far the most Aztec style game is still Path of Exile.

Played a little bit of One Piece: Going Baseball which operates at my ideal level of sports game. All the guys are small and cute and you get to do funny special moves. The only problem I have personally is if you set it to manual fielding it starts doing that sports game thing where it swaps control over to whoever’s closest to the ball, which I always find extremely disorienting.

I assume they still make cute/arcade-y sports games like this but I have no idea what the subgenre looks like these days. I know Power Pros is still going, but what about other sports?

super mega baseball 2 and 3 are pretty dang good

the characters are definitely not as cute and i wish there were more customization options for faces and things but it does the thing where it has a whole league with made up teams and i love that

I completed FF7 without any Materia. It’s actually really easy if you know what you’re doing.

I used: Cloud Cid and Yuffie

I died to: Lost Number and Carry Armour
