I always feel guilty when it comes up because it’s me, I’m the guy who likes chromatic aberration

I’ve… added it to games with reshade :skull_and_crossbones::skull_and_crossbones::skull_and_crossbones:

you’re not alone, though i don’t think i’ve ever added it to something with mods

I think it would fit in a game like Kane & Lynch, something designed to look like footage, or a game with a much simpler visual style

10 hrs completing every available sidequest in the last remnant, 10 hrs deep in the wiki to upgrade npc weapons, 15 mins of story content and repeat

this is super interesting to hear

in my own experience, i don’t think a lot of people i knew (maybe just a few of my most-hardcore gaming friends) picked it up, either, but i assume it was more because Mega Man had already reached a bit of a saturation point at that time in the US and regular people were starting to care about it less.

but yeah, i think it’s probably ā€œthe best one,ā€ even if i like the SNES games more.

X4 is definitely up there with the better games in the series but it’s pretty much the last one (barring maybe legends 2 and of course RM4MI) and X5 and X6 were exactly as underwhelming as people treated them

fwiw X5 and 6 have what i would call ā€œunnerving energy.ā€ there is just something about them that feels uncomfortable and upsetting in a hard-to-define way. maybe because they feel barely held together (X6 even moreso)? just something about them feels uncanny in a way that disturbs my mind.

good soundtrack in X5, though

Yeah I loved it at the time – my friend let me borrow his disc and I had it for probably 6 months longer than I think he intended me to have it.

Although at that point it was the first game I had played in the X series too.

bought no more heroes on pc because it is one of my all-times faves and there is no limit to how many times i will buy it again (this is time number three).

anyways. someone has already modded ā€œheavenly starā€ back into the soundtrack, making this about one million times better than the switch port. and one billion times better than whatever the fuck came out on ps3.

PSN Sale Review

Iron Crypticle:
Not the best twin stick shooter I’ve played from the developer of Rock Boshers DX, but it is a twin stick shooter from the developer of Rock Boshers DX

GoNNER:
It’s like Mega Man if Dr. Wily just filled every room with a bunch of these things image

Spelunky 2:
I’ve been waiting to play this for a very long time, and now that I have it on PS4… eh. I just kind of already know what to expect, coming in with encyclopedic knowledge of Spelunky HD. I’m gonna play it until I beat Olmec and then see how I feel. I know there’s a lot of ā€œpost gameā€ content, like that one area with 99 levels. That aside, it’s still Spelunky. It’s very cute and charming and immediate, and it feels great to control. Spelunky 2 has a very friendly tone. The characters all feel more human; they have more to say, they’re more responsive, their designs look more happy and human-like than in HD, which gives the sequel less of a lonely, alienating feeling, which is both good and bad. It’s nice to feel like there are forces inside the labyrinth that aren’t just there to kill me, but at the same time, when I play a Spelunky game I kind of expect everything to want to kill me. Even the shopkeepers are smarter and friendlier. Shopkeepers directly account for the enemy that aggravated them rather than putting the blame on the player and being permanently hostile. Still, if a shopkeeper becomes hostile, it’s possible for them to forgive the player, which is way friendlier behavior than I’d ever expect.

this looks so neat and has everything going for it except playing it

I’m 2-19 against this one Zangief in A3 and I wish they would just block me already (or pick a different character just once)

playing the 25th ward and rapidly alternating between thinking it’s the worst and the best.

a scene where two men point guns at each other, one of them asking the other to just be frank and come out and say it. so the other starts rambling about whatever the bullshit conspiracy masterplan is. no, nobody cares about that. be frank, who is it you like?

and the awkward conversation that follows with the image still focused on the guns is so priceless. love this shit.

I want to articulate why I think PSO2 New Genesis is the platonic ideal of stupid MMO anime action games

instead I’m going to talk about its class design

like PSO2, you pick a main class and a sub class. in PSO2, the main class is the decider of how your character plays and the sub class is largely buffs or utility

in NG, they have thrown this all out and you can use weapons and PAs from sub classes and it’s killing me because I really like the dumb class techertechter and it’s like, what reason is there to main techter other than they’re the only class with Shifta and Deband now

even if you do, why use a wand when you can sub hunter or fighter and you have Actual Goddamn Melee Weapons

I don’t get it

maybe I’m stuck in the box

also, it seems like even though he’s still there in PSO2 content, there are absolutely no Takenobu Mitsoyoshi callouts in New Genesis

the game is worse off for it

YOU CAN COMBINE MULTIPLE TYPES OF WEAPONS INTO ONE!??!?!
